I have a B7 in shop, wont start, please help

I have a b7 s4, now I know this is the a4 forums, but I figure the cars have similar electrical systems and there are more A4 owners than s4 owners.. so here it goes:

I got the car, and it was missfiring (not bad at all, went on a 1000 mile trip with a loss of power), so I took it into a trusted Audi specialist here locally... he took of the valve cover and said the timing of slightly off and the cam adjuster had a broken piece, so the camshaft was not aligned on one bank..

He ordered all the necessary tools got it all lined up and ready to go, did an oil change.. battery was completely dead put it on the charger, and I just came to the shop when they were about to start the car..

Car wont start... keeps crankin and crankin and crankin.. turns out there is no spart at any of the coils.. VAGcom says NOTHING about any of the problems and RPM tests all come out good..

    Immobilizer is good, no faults..

The car was in a flood previously, but i DROVE the car to him 2 weeks ago when it went into the shop..

SO my question to you guys is what simple little thing would keep the car from starting?

coilpacks and plugs need to be checked.

also double check to make sure any ground wires that were taken off were replaced. This is what I would put my money on.

although there shouldn't be any reason for it to be messed with, there is one on the back of the alternator that is pretty crucial.

VAGCOM probably wont be able to read anything if the cannot throw a code.

I saw it and the only thing off was the valve cover and all the electronics around it.. maybe the camshaft position sensor isnt plugged in?

Possibly... a simple sensor clip could trip the ECU also...

Was that the problem or was the flux capacitor not firing?

i'd like to hear more on this flood. did the engine get submerged, or you just drove through a few inches of water?

Inspect ecm case for water. Sometimes they can get wet inside and have no problems right away.
