Does anyone know the trick to loosening those bumper mounting bracket torx bolts? Mine are on there pretty damn good. Even my air ratchet couldnt get them out...

Yeah it kept stripping the Torx bolts though and my T-45. So I went and bought a high quality one and that did the trick.

I did this all without taking off the bumper though...

I know it's been a while since you did the install, but if you could post a how-to on the job with any tips I (and others) would definitely appreciate it. Thanks!

Eddie, that's a fantastic write-up! That said, the details convinced me I shouldn't try it. Can you recommend someone in Metro Detroit area (preferrably Ann Arbor) who I could trust to do this? I don't really just want to drop it at the Audi dealership if they don't have a tech who is experienced with the snub swap.

    Thx for the advice...

    Ann Arbor, No...
However, I would take the time to drive to Waterford to German Motor Werks.
Stefan owns the shop and he is awesome. Great skills and very fair prices.
If you are not sure, I'm confident many will make the same recommendation.

I had less expensive Torx bits as well, twisted the bit completely. Bought Craftsman and solved the problem.
