Fuel filter clips, I can only get 2 off, help.

I've read a few other posts.

I can get the 2 rear lines off the old filter but the 2 front facing lines have a different kind. I can't see clips or anything to figure out how to get these two off.

Please any help would really be appreciated.

All four of mine were the same design but two (one on each side) were all black so the part you press in wasn't easily spotted like the other two (which were white and blue). Try again, I have to think that they are all the same. The part to press in is on teh exact opposite side of the bend, i.e. the hose bends 90 degrees away from you when you hold it so the push part is at the bottom of the side facing you.

I forget who said it but pushing in while angling the hose away from you (so it slightly lifts the clipping part) and pulling makes it a bit easier.

Sorry I'm not more of a help. I just can't see how two of your clips would be different unless someone screwed it up before and replaced hoses.

    Yea they're different.

The two facing the rear that I got off had 2 clips in them for each line. One line had 2 black clips, one line had 2 blue clips. They lift out then the lines slide off.

The two I can't get are just round and I don't see a clip on there. They're both solid black and I don't see any clear or white any colors on anything.

AH. All four of mine were the 90 degree bend type with a little push piece at the end of the hose that blended in with the rim edge. You had to push it in. Sorry but all I can do is just describe my situation enough to make sure you have understood it and confirmed your's isn't the same.

The two I can't get sound like the ones you had.

When you say "push it in" what do you mean? The whole line towards the filter or push the clip down?

Re: Fuel filter clips, I can only get 2 off, help.

I'm about to leave for the day so I apologize for leaving you hanging. Yes, push the clip. The very end of the hose is a cleverly designed clip. The rim at the end houses this little piece that is in line with the rim. You push it in while you pull the hose off. It's a bit easier if you angle the 90 degree elbow away from you.

Look at the picture on the right in step three of the DIY.
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...uel+filter+diy
On the left side of the fuel filter, you can kind of see how the clip is designed and where you are supposed to push.

If you look at the second big picture after step 9, the hose on the right side of the filter you will see this white piece toward the end of the clip closest to you (top edge). That's what you have to push but on two of mine they were all black so you had to find it.

I have to go, hopefully that will make sense. Good luck!

Look. Grab a flat head screwdriver (a short stubby oneone)

If you look at the tips in the picture. in this pic, youll see it makes this shape.
(_) You want to jam the flat head against the round part because thats the click part.

Yea I got them off. Last night it was just dark and I couldn't hold the flash light and figure it out with one hand.

Those two were so easy and came right off once I knew what to do.

    Thanks for the help.
