How much oil does your 2.7T burn /1k mile.

    Hello everyone,

    I was wondering,

How much oil does your 2.7T burn(if any) every 1k miles?

What is the normal amount that it should be burning?

    TIA

It should not be measurable on the dipstick in 1000miles. Every car burns oil but usually it is like 1/4-1/2 quart to 3-5k miles. Does your car smoke? check your intake piping for oil. there will always be some in there but check for a large amount. Any leaks? How much are you using? My car is a 2000, I have 2000 miles on this oil and i am less than 1/4 quart low.

Well, not every car. My porsche 996 Turbo used 1 quart every 900-1000 miles. Manufacture suggested oil loss for that car is 1 quart every 1000km's believe it or not.

My S4 uses about 1/4 every 2K miles or so.

every 2k miles i find myself topping off 1/4 - 3/4s quart in the system. Grab an oil cooler if you have an issue. it may help.

adam - can i have your aprilla. you selling any time soon. =)

I don't mean to jinx myself, but I change my oil with Royal Purple 5-30 every 3000-3500 miles and I read no loss of oil according to the dipstick. I don't know how much of a differance it makes but I try to save any spirited driving for after it cools down at night and very sparingly as well.

my car lets out a little smoke under high rpm gear changes, but no noticible oil loss when checking the dipstck. car has 82k miles.

I would say mine uses 1/8 to 1/4 quart of oil every 2k-3k

Re: How much oil does your 2.7T burn /1k mile.

I just changed the oil and filter with Mobil 1 OW-40. I will measure every 1k and see. There is no smoke at all coming from the exhaust, and I checked all the piping with very minimal oil residue inside, but no big spots at all.

    TIA.
