DUH FMIC is retardedly overpriced...same with ASP.

DUH performs well, ASP not so much (IAT delta has been unimpressive). ER's hands down outperform both.

The only other thing i would consider is Ebay FMIC because of price, im way more partial to the SMIC's though. I dont like the bumper modification, fan relocation, radiator obstruction, and look of the FMIC on an s4...

Just wait for JHM to put out their FMIC kit if you want to go the FMIC route. It is going to utilize the ebay core but with new piping so you dont have them sticking out all over the place. The price is going to be hard to beat as well.

SMICs: ER is defiantly my vote.

    Cheers

I would go with the ERss hands down, ebay front mount will give u an extra 8 feet of piping for your turbos to fill and the core blocks the radiator "ie potenial over heating", not to mention all the cutting of the car that needs to be done...

Call DTR racing in Pottstown, PA (610-496-4688) and ask Mike for a set of BigF*ckingSidemounts. They are almost twice the size of AWE's sidemounts and there is no need to notch the frame like with many of the other popular kits. The set goes for about 1400. PM me for pictures.

If your going to be doing alot of road racing than the FMIC can cause some overheating issues but with an upgraded fan VAST that can be solved as well.

JHM claims: "with this front mount kit, we have found that it out performs any sidemount, works great at the drag strip and on the street. However it will work fine for Auto X and short periods of road racing, it may cause overheating if you road race in warm climates above 80f for more than 15 minutes or so. Basically it will work great for 90% of the public. If you need the best sidemounts and don't care to chop up your bumper and want your stock fog lights I sell ER sidemount intercoolers as well."

Here is a link to JHM's FMIC thread. http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...light=JHM+FMIC

Questions to think.. Price, Application for car, Aesthetic styling..

Fog lights or no fog lights..?

Re: DUH Fmic, ASP Fmic, ER SMICS???? Which one's the BEST?

I personally never had the ebay core on my car, but the only 2 that I've seen where having ait in the mid to upper 130ss, theres logs of both of those runs in the same day at the same track at 40 degrees..

I would go with meth or some squirter's for the smic coolers I personally don't like all the large piping on the front mount which will contribute to more pressure drop and less lower end. I know tuning plays a some role in AITS, but thats just my thoughts on what he should do..

In all fairness, your one log is not really valid... Do a 3rd gear pull from 2k to redline. I'm not discrediting the ebay core, I've seen logs myself and they are pretty good (i've considered it myself...not hiding anything). Generally it's 10-15 degree delta which is not shabby at all for the cost!

Thats great your temps r low, but these where full 1/4 mile runs not just 1 pull in 1 gear. I don't really know why they where having problems with temps, but they where ...The guy has rs coolers already, i just think running meth or the ic squirter's would be cheaper and look better on his RS4...

Ebay core is better than sidemounts but still rather lousy, just saw 65ish temps on the dyno today. Still way better than uprated sidemounts but no where near good.

General statement, no? Which sidemounts are you referring to?

We have seen numbers of people trying various sidemounts and none showed anything impressive. Same applies to other cars we've seen here, less airflow, less area and less volume, doesn't take much time to figure out why they don't work.

ebay core over his rs4s, cutting the car up, adding a lot more weight and piping, not a perfect fit, taking the looks away from the rs4 bumper, losing the bumper support, potential over heating, have to add electric fan. I couldn't justify the cost over just adding meth or sprayers to his coolers.. So i was right the ebay core isn't the solution either, 65 cel is 149 degrees

Or go with a good front mounted core, I putted a precision core on the r32 and it was running very low IATS all the time and those cars usually run hot. We'll be doing the same on the s4s probably.

Your 100% correct the garrett core precision uses is by far the best, if i ever did a front mount it would be with that core hands downs. Alex check your p.m

haha how big of piping are you talking about with the fmic core, some 4 inch or what? when i added it to my car i honestly didnt notice any lag at all. also they outshine smic even more so in the heat when it comes to iat temps. i ran consistant mid 12s in 80-90+ heat at the track last september with my ko3s including 2 12.4s. i think that should speak for itself...

Theres about 8 feet of piping verse next to nothing with his rs4ss, from everyones pics the piping looks to be 2.25-2.5 if so way to large for your average s4... Ya and if you had a better core you might of went 12.2.haha... Also your car is geared more towards drag racing, the guy with the rs4 I doubt is...

haha i would have needed some water/meth injection or nitrous to go any faster that day.

Re: DUH Fmic, ASP Fmic, ER SMICS???? Which one's the BEST?

Guys, i'm already running rs4's Smics.
    The question is:
Is it worth to spend 1300 bucks (or 2000 for the DUH kit) for the ER smics if i'm already running original rs4s smics?
    I don't want a wat/meth injection system ;)

    Thank you!
