    Chrome trim vs. white trim

So, I was just looking at my car since the battery died all of a sudden (the dealer said there was a dead cell in the battery - what the heck is that?), but i noticed that the trim is looking really white now.

Maybe it was there before, but did the winter cause it to happen and how would i fix it? Thanks, my other cars never had this problem

Re: Chrome trim vs. white trim

dead cell in a battery is somewhat common. I mean...I dont see them all the time...but it does happen. Your average car battery has 6 cells inside. Like chambers. Each work in series and each provides approx 2 volts. If you have one cell thats dead...or somewhat inactive then it can cause the car to crank slowly or not start. Dont worry about it, just have it replaced.

as far as your trim....that looks like they might have sprayed it with a brake cleaner or something corosive. A corosive cleaner like a brake clean will tarnish plastic. Happens on my tools alot too. I'll get oil on my tools and i'll clean them with a rag with brake clean on it....and the red plastic handles of my snap-on screwdrivers will turn whiteish in color. sometimes it comes back after a while....sometimes they stay discolored. I would without a doubt....go back and complain about that, Because....nothin I have ever tried can get rid of it....just time.
