Just moved to NYC and the roads are killing me!

I love my S-line A3, but it's a pretty rough ride in new york city. What can I do to soften the ride, but not ruin it?

Do you have 18s or 17s? Maybe swap your stock s line dampers to koni FSD?
Coilovers perhaps with adjustable height... lots of possibilities- im sue a lot will chime in on this subject...

I'm willing to spend up to $1000, but I'd like to know if there are any decent options in the $500 range.

Also, what about just softening the ride, and giving up some performance?

I'm not a big modder, so I'd like to keep the changes to a minimum.

Honestly, the best thing you can do is just learn to avoid potholes and bumps. It will take some practice and getting used to the roads you frequently drive on. Softening your ride will not help much and would probably be a waste of money. Just my 2 cents.

i feel ur pain im in NYC too

. when i had the stock s-line suspension is was a bumpy ride most fo the time. anyway now im riding on koni fsd's and neuspeed sport springs. u can get the combo for like 700 i think. if u dont want the car to be lower the fsd's are also designed to be used with oem springs. let me tell u the comfort level of the fsd's vs. the stock s-line is HUGE. u will notice the diff the moment u pull out of the shop.

the fsd's have made the NYC roads bearable and best 700-800 bucks i have spent on my car so far.

Thanks for replying. Where did you get yours done? Is the $700-800 including labor?

I hear you about the lack of A3s here. I bought mine the first time I saw it! Test drove it and I was sold. My only regret is not getting the cold weather package...I bought mine in LA.

I drove my A3 in nyc for 6months and sold it and got a slammed Avant..I hear ya, NYC roads are terrible!! Just gotta drive slow and carefull.

my boy whos and audi tech did my suspensio install in the service center where i bought my car. no 600-700 is just for parts. labor is another 300

it sucks so much but its the price we pay for modding. the fsd's will run u 500 or so plus 300 labor. and the labor wont increase if u get springs too

by the way since u are one of the only a3's in the area we should cruise up to waterfest together this summer along with my other freind and his a3

I wouldn't mind doing an A3 group ride. July might be tough, though. Do you just drive out for the day?

Where do you do your service? My A3 is a left coaster! Bought it in LA and drove to NYC last summer. How much do your springs lower the car?

why would labor cost more if you do your springs same time?
that doesnt make sense.
if your changing the struts you have to remove the springs anyway.

yea u drive up spend half the day there and come back. that what i do but i u can spend as much time as u want.
