Don't do it. I currently have an HKS intake on my car with a K04 (using tt225 maf). I have finally found an airbox which has already been modified to accept the larger MAF, so should be ridding myself of stupid HKS soon. However, if you are still considering it, shoot me an email because I should have mine removed in about 3 weeks (trying to find other air box related parts) and would let it go for cheap!

Just curious why? My experience with them in the past has always been good. I don't really think they filter out much, but whatever. LIke I said, just wanted to hear why you don't like it.

i'm running the mushroom filter, works great for me. great for tight spaces like the a4. couldn't find any pix of my intake setup on my k04. but here it is on my 71 elim. I run my hks filter element dry. i think the instructions specify that way.

Well for starters the "don't really filter out much" aspect is rather important to me. So maybe we are on different pages from the start. The HKS (dry, not oiled) is always loud and annoying. I don't mind some noise (or a lot) when I get on the throttle, but a constant "whoosh" gets really really annoying. The air being redirected by the DV into the TIP makes a blow off sound on shifting that I really don't like either. Basically I would only use a cone filter if anyother modifcation requires the removal of the stock airbox (i.e. the use of a larger MAF). Just my two cents.

install was easy.. i used a custom 3in aluminum u-bend, works well. can hear the spooling esp with the pc16. had it on for a while too
