    Damn alarm..Please help

    So my alarm keeps setting itself off...I was standing right next to the car and locked it, it beeped and flashed the lights as normal...Then like 2 min later is went off. Nothing touched the car it just went off..So unarmed it and locked it again and what do you know, Went off again...Really pissin me off cuz i cant set my alarm.


    Any help would be appreciated..

    update...still nothing...Damn this sucks. i cant lock the door without the alarm being set off...

    Try turning the motion and tilt switches off to see if one of the sensors is faulty.

    Right, if you set your motion and tilt switches to off, the alarm in theory should not go off. If it does go off then it means that it is not one of those switches. And I don't know if VAG will tell you

    I had a similar problem and it seemed to be battery related. I had a phantom fan problem that would drain my battery and the alarm would go off due to low voltage. After it did that a couple of time the alarm was acting the same way yours is.

    A new yellow top later everything seemed to fix it self. The alarm went off about a day after the new battery was in but I have not had the problem since.

    hmmm i do notice that when the door is open at night, the dome lights flicker, same when i roll the windows up with the door open.

    So i hit those tilt and motion switches to off( im assuming when they are lit, it means off) and it has not gone off...Yae..So im going to check the battery and alternator.

    so i checked the battery with a voltage meter and i got 12 when it was off and around 13-14 when it was on at idle...Im goin with it being the battery dieing..pretty sure its the original battery and its got 54,000 on the clock so yep new battery time.

    yeh noticed u are having battery problems...the bitch is on my warranty because its not CPO'd, it does not cover battery or alarm but i dont know if its the battery or what...it dosnt say alarm either which pisses me off but i just bought the car so they may be able to do something for me i hope...gotta love dealn with dealers.
