I'm planing to go completely quiet with my exhaust,so i was thinking to put a cone in there just for the the sound of it.I know it has zero gains.I'm doing it just for fun now that summer is here...

But i need help on a heatshield.I know the materials needed. What i really want to know,is from where to where it should start and end, where can i bolt it,how much height and width it must have...Pretty much,a template.Help guys

Short of buying one - you want to cover as much of the area as possible. Ideally, you would want it to be as tall as the gasket that goes around the engine bay, and from the false firewall all the way up to the radiator support. You will have to leave some room or cut-outs for the hoses in the front.

I used a piece of sheet metal that goes from the front of the engine bay to the radiator support as best as I could. I made a template out of a cardboard box then transferred it to the metal. Mine is not perfect, but with the use of a 180 degree U-Bend coming off the MAF, my air filter is tucked WAY down under the headlight - very much toward the front of the engine. Between the placement of the filter and the heatshield, the U-Pipe is ALWAYS "cold to the touch" or ambient - regardless of my driving.

The unit in the classifieds has been picked up by dozens and dozens of people on here and from everything that I hear, it performs very well...if you don't want to make your own.

I took some more pictures and put them up in my gallery.

The heatshield is 18" long at it's longest, and 11" high.
