Hey, guys. I've been lurking for about a month now and thought it was about time I said, "hello". My girlfriend and I picked up our pre-owned '06 while visiting her parents in Virginia Beach last month. The funny thing is, we weren't really shopping for a new vehicle. We were kinda just test driving cars to burn time while my bike was in for service. We test drove a 1 series and 3 series first but knew we would rather have an Audi. The salesman was kind enough to direct us to an Audi dealer just down the road. After roaming around their lot for a bit, we stumbled upon the avant and my girlfriend looked up at me and asked, "Is this our new car?" I knew I couldn't hesitate with my response because it would only be a matter of time before she started thinking about money, bills, etc., etc. So quickly yet casually, I say, "It could be." I figured I had to play it cool even though inside, I was hoping she would fall prey to the impulse buy gods. Thankfully, she did; and a few hours later, we're driving it back to her parents place.
It's first mod was a wheel swap with my '06 Passat. The avant was running stock 16s while my Passat had 18" A8 fat fives. It's funny how wheels can transform a car. It has the stock sport suspension which I'm actually quite pleased with. I wouldn't mind throwing on some coils but considering that we snowboard, mountain bike, camp, rock climb, and a ton of road trips for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu tournaments up and down the east coast, there's really no rush. In fact, I'm not sure if coils even fit our lifestyle.
