APR ECU Upgrade @ DTM Autohaus

has anyone done their APR chips @ DTM Autohaus recently?
I'm considering them mainly for the distance to their shop, but would like to see if they're reputable.
any feedback would be appreciated.

had my car chipped by ATM Autohaus today and here's my experience.

updating software via an established application doesn't take much skill, so there's nothing bad or good about the installation process.
however, I really didn't appreciate how my car was not handled properly.
all it takes is to plug in the cable under the dash so there's no need to change the car seat position - but it was changed.
and the guy slammed the car door in front of me....I was like what the #%$$%.
and I turned off the radio when I handed him my key, but the radio was on with a different station when I got it back.

when I pay someone to do work on my car, that's exactly what I expect him to do....just work on my car and don't friggin' change anything or slam the car doors.
if they don't give proper care for my car while I'm there, imagine what will happen when I'm not there.

moreover, he didn't seem to be well informed on the product either.
when he left the fault code erase option unchecked, I asked if it should be included.
his initial answer was no.
but as he was prepping on the computer, he said yeah, it should be included.
when I was told to select an access code, I asked if I could choose 3 digit code, but he said no, it has to be a 4 digit code.
so I chose a random 4 digit number.
after getting back from the shop, I did some research and his answer was wrong - the APR website as well as the manual he gave me clearly state that it can be 1 to 4 digit number.

I'm through with DTM Autohaus.

damn....found a shoe mark on the inside door panel.
should've just gone to Ingolstadt West instead....had such good experience with them last year.
they knew how to give good care and respect to the customer as well as the car.

not gonna mention the name here, but yeah, the guy seemed to be cool.
however, what matters the most is the quality of work and professionalism.
being a nice guy doesn't mean he can get the job done right.

I don't think that's the point. It's a slippery slope of disrespect (if not the seat then the radio, the door, the scuffs) that separates quality tuners from stealerships/bad shops. Would you like it if something completely unrelated to the service you requested popped up? It isn't a far cry from the "take the car in to the stealership and leave with <insert issue> at <insert location>" issue. You pay for quality and professionalism...quality customer service (i.e. cool/nice guys) is only the gravy.

Hey kooltechie, who did you deal with. I'm sorry with the bad service you had to go through. We just recently hired some new guys, since I'm unable to be at the shop every day! I usually tell people to email me or message before coming to the shop so that I can meet them at the shop. So next time hit me up!!!

first of all, I'm not trying to make your business look bad....honestly, that's not my intention.
I'm sure a lot of people here have great experiences with your shop.
what I've experienced, however, isn't something I can say as others have.
as I said it earlier, I'm not going to reveal the name of the person.
maybe he "typically" doesn't do the things he did to my car....and he seemed cool (though that's not why I was there for).
but as a customer, one bad experience is more than enough to seek business elsewhere.
I'll say this cuz you might think it's someone new there....the person I dealt with is not one of the new guys.

Mikey don't get it wrong man i met u and ur cool i dealt with Ryan, but he couldn't answer many of my questions and new nothing about Vag-Com! no offense i'd go back anytime cause they provide great service, but i'm just sayin that he should be on Audizine more! haha! no hard feelings!

just confirmed my car was chipped with the "MT6" programs instead of "Tip" (obviously my car isn't MT6).
all was installed by the "experienced" employee who specializes in Audi ECU programs.
I'm sure you can tell who I'm referring to by now, but do yourself a favor....don't ever get your car chipped by this person.
I'm f#$%ing furious.

if anyone had their car chipped by this guy, find out if the installed programs are the right version for your tranny.
