i am buying a s4 again because my evo is too much to drive on the street. More of a track car now. The question is as the topic states. I have talked to mark from asp. Have known him since he started and value his thoughts. He said to buy a stockish s4 and send it to him for the rs6 kit because i feel that a pj ko4 kit wont be enough. My evo is 350whp and 2990lbs. The ko4 that i saw make this power at 500+ more lbs weight. I have about 28 or so to spend total. So should i buy a stock s4 for 14 or so and have it worked or buy a stage 3 already done for 19 or so and get the rs6 kit and sell the k04s. Thanks

personally, i like the fact that i bought my car stock and brought it up since then to 3. since you have all this spare change though it really doesnt matter, i mean dont forget all the maintence that has MOST likely been done on a stg 3. (timing belt, waterpump) all that fun stuff, and the small odds and ends.

yeah it was taken on a 170+ high speed chase then they blocked off rt280 in jersey. The brembos brought them safey to a stop when the exit the highway and crashed the car. sucks

Buying a stage 3 will probably be cheaper in the long run unless you get a great deal on like a stage 2/2+ that already has some good usable mods (exhaust, suspension, etc)

yeah i am just worried about the power. I guess the way to go is rs6 for the power i have seen it make. so yeah if i could find a nice stage 2 i would do that and the rs6 kit.

Personally, I would buy one that's already modded a bit to save some money. If you have the cash though, get a stock one.

I would personally find a nice well-built stage 3 car (suspension, BBK, the works) and sell the stage 3 components that aren't needed for RS6 turbos. You will spend a lot more building up from stock. Use the savings for more mods and/or insurance in case something breaks.

you'll save more money just finding a used stg 3. cuz if u think about it if someone HAD the money to stg3 their car that means they've already replaced everything that needs to be repaired anyways(bushings, belts, pumps etc...)

if you think k04s are not enough bring your 350whp, 2900 lb evo out and i (or anyone in jersey with a healthy stage 3) will show you what a healthy stage 3 car is all about... jw why is a 350whp evo too much for the street? friend of mine daily drives his 680whp evo and loves every second of the drivability. is your car caged and gutted or something? anyways an aggressive fueling setup stage 3 will be faster than your evo all day (something similar to epl's fuelling kit) so i wouldn't waste your $ on rs6's if you think your evo is too fast =P

Stage 3 S4: Cheaper, unless there are issues to iron out or mods that you do not like.

Stock to Stage 3: Allows you to add you own personal touch and no guess work to exactly what was done or not done on the car.

If you are anal about your cars like many of us here are, I think it is better to start with a stock S4 first. Remember, the journey is part of the fun of owning a Stage 3 S4.

not that the evo is too fast at all. i was going to go 30r. The problem is its got recaro pole positions, all sound deading, backseats, trunk material removed. You can hear every rock, exhaust drones out the car(hard to talk on your cell phone), 255/35/18 on 10k suspension, and a on/off clutch. also close to -3 camber. tracks really bad.


btw the way where are you located because i would like to go in a k04 car to feel it.

$28k is a small fortune. its really hard to find low mileage clean S'. but def try n get a low mileage clean one and then RS6 it. id say VAST or EPL over ASP. both proven, the last one isnt. that is all.

I wouldn't bother with an all stock car... atleast get one with brakes and suspension... and maybe wheels or something.
I was happy to find mine with tasteful mods... saved me about $5k in parts that I would've bought later on.

You coudl buy a stock one for 14, and have 14k left to mod it.

You coudl buy a stage three already done for 19, and have 9k left for modding.
With a stage 3 you can sell the turbos, the intercoolers, but that motor has already been beatin on.

Buy a stocker, For 14k you can definatly turn it into a beast.

Welcome back. I personally are back to an S4 avant as well. I still have my evo for fun times but uses the S4 for more casual/comfort driving.

Good luck. I think you should buy a semi-modded S4 and build your own stg3 s4. Buy the yellow S4 with the FMIC. Ive been eyeing that car but I cant afford a third car: )

Yeah depending. i had somebody else ask me this but wanted me to de mod somethings. All in all you would problary have to put money in because the book value of my car is 28k. It has 19000 miles. 10k in mods
