Hello fellow B6ers, just wanted to introduce myself and let you know I am on my way to customizing. With gas prices climbing, I had to sell my truck and need something more efficient. Will miss that truck because it was pretty fast, 2007 Nissan Frontier V6

It was a toss up between a B6 and B7. Liked the look of a B6 a little more so I bought a Dolphin Grey, 2005 1.8T, automatic. Yeah I know, wanted a 6spd but my wife can't drive stick so this will do. Picked it up last week and drove it to this place called Futrell and had them put on that APR chip, they gave me the stock program and the stage 1. To tell you the truth, I am not really sure how to switch back and forth between the two programs and I can barely tell that my car is a lil faster now? Maybe I will get injectors next with a DV and that will make it faster. I want exhaust but really can't have a loud car because it would not be professional for my job and office. I want the USP bumper but they're hard to find and the only thing I can find on Ebay are some full ground kit for around $500. Anyhow, great forum and lots of knowledge here.

Welcome, the APR guy should have showed you how to switch between programs. He also should have given you literature. Do the DV and exhaust ASAP. Injectors can be done later.

USP front you have to get the lower portion and DIY.
    genuinevwaudiparts.com have that.
or you can just buy S4 front.
to be honest, I hate that truck you had. good choice on picking an audi.

^^agreed! now if it was a titan V8 now thats a real truck! but the chip is the bomb i don't have the stock program so don't sweat it! if u put 3 resonators on ur exhaust it'd be quieter than ur stock one! and a DV is truely needed! and a USP front is like $190 or do the Clint mod and chop up ur front one it'd look killer!

    Re: New to B6

Thanks for the reply all. They did give me literature on how to change back and forth and I tried it, and I am unsure how to tell which program I am in. I thought I switched and drove around but there's no difference in power? I guess I'll keep playing with it. Also, they told me a DV is not really needed because I may have gotten the upgraded version of the DV that Audi but in newer A4's, but said if mine was a 02-03 then I should get a DV for sure.

The CEL will flash to tell you what program you are in. 1 flash for the first program. 2 for the 2nd. etc.

i got 15/16 mpg in my a4, so don't expect much better gas mileage.

buy light japanese cars if you want good gas mileage.

The DV won't necessarily make your car any faster, but is a needed upgrade once you have new software and are seeing more boost.

Hey you properly need tires every 10000 miles as well. With the 1.8T you should get between 20-30 mpg. I'm not saying it's not possible to get a 15mpg on the 1.8T, just depends on your driving.

    Re: New to B6

I tell you what, so far it's been a huge improvement in gas. I filled up once and have driven all week around town and have 1/4 tank left, I'll take that anyday. I used to pay around $55-65 every week for gas and was only getting 210-220 miles out of a tank. I think the mileage on the A4 is about the same as my wife's 2.5 Jetta.
