Just wondering if anyone has an opinion on carbonio intakes? Is there another option? Does it improve performance or just sound better? Has adding one done any damage?

    Re: cold air intake

Just a expensive oem box, go with the evoms, or nuespeed.
Downside you will loose your engine cover, unless modified or an after market one.

    Re: cold air intake

I have an Evoms on my 2.0T 06 and it is great. I get a little faster acceleration response, and better gas mileage. It also sounds great, you can hear the air get sucked in.....Whooosh Whoosh or some thing like that haha.

VF Engineering makes a CAI for the B7 A4? They don't list it on their website...

    AEM cold air intake -

The intake extends down towards the front bumper, so the filter sucks in the coldest air possible - away from the engine.

This is the best intake on the market.

    Re: cold air intake

Hope they put a water trap on it. A few years back BMW built the 540 with air intakes to get the low and cool air. Unless you went through a deep puddle, in which case it would suck up enough water to kill the engine, sometimes permanently.

love my Neuspeed P-Flo with CAI extension.

Anyone else get that surging whoosh sound (kinda like BOV) with their EVOMs/Carbonio setup?

    Re: cold air intake

i had the carbonio (oetty) intake and it sure did sound nice. but was it worth the money? eh I dno. it had a nice filter. thats was probably the only thing it helped with. i think its been basically proven that the air boxes are really good enough and the cost isnt always justified from a performance aspect, rather an aesthetic one.
    Got Oetty?
