code help, p1296, please read whole post...

So I had pulled a p1296 a couple of days ago. I went and replaced the coolant temp sensor (the green updated one) and reset the codes. Car has been running fine until yesterday. I pulled into my driveway and shut it off for 10 mins. I went back to start it and it would crank but not turn over. I let it sit overnight and it started right up this morning. I now have a p1296 code again on a coolant temp sensor that has about 50 miles on it. Here are my questions:

1. Since I'm pulling a p1296 again and coolant temp sensor is brand new, bad thermostat, or should I be looking elswehere?

2. Does the car not starting have anything to do with my "error in mapped cooling system" code, or should I just go ahead and change the Crank sensor and call it a coincidence?

It sounds to me like you either have bad CTS wiring, or a bad T-stat.

Even a bad t-stat won't cause the car not to start however. Look at the CTS wires.

You two problems could be related, or it could be two separate issues.
