FS: 2006 Scorched Yellow Triumph Daytona 675

Hey all, I think it's time to put up the helmet and jacket for my riding career. One too many close calls and one too many friends getting hit has taken a lot of the fun out of riding here in Vegas.

My loss is your gain, take advantage of the gorgeous spring and summer riding months to show off one of the most exclusive bikes around! Not to mention you'll get ~40MPG while zipping around town.

    Anyways, here's what we got.

2006 Scorched Yellow Triumph Daytona 675. This bike is THE supersport bike of 2006/2007. The handling, power curve, and sound is about as good as it gets. It's light, nimble and so easy to flik around that it should be illegal!

It's got 5105 miles on the ODO. I did an oil change at 500 miles with dino oil, another at 1500 miles with partial synthetic and another at 3000 miles with fully synthetic to ensure everything broke in correctly. It never went over 10k rpms during the first 800 miles (Which is pretty difficult to do on such a sweet bike) and it's been super strong since. I keep the chain lubed every 3-500 miles and the tranny shifts like butter. the tires also have plenty of tread as well, so they are good to go.

I did a couple mods; i got a twin-light driver which turns the high beams on at a lower voltage so both lights turn on, but doesn't blind on-coming traffic. I also did a tail tidy for the license plate so it doesn't jut out like a sore thumb anymore. I also exhaust wrapped the mid-pipe in order to help lower temps under the saddle to help cool things down. I didn't go towards performance mainly because i knew i could never take full advantage of its current power. There's also the necessary tank protector and shifter glove to prevent scratches on the tank and your shoes.

The bike has been garaged when not ridden, so the paint is still shiny and new. Now for a couple picts..

I have the title in hand, so cash outright works best. You can contact me at yoogene83 at gmail dot com or via PM here. I have bought and sold tons of stuff here, so you can buy with confidence. I would rather not ship it either, so if you want to buy, i'd recommend flying out and riding it back; you won't regret it!

    I'm asking $7299.

I'm also in no rush to sell. I worked hard to find and purchase this bike, so if the right buyer doesn't come along, i'll keep it and admire it's beauty in the garage and maybe take it out on nice weekends.

Forgot to mention, it's had the ECU recall performed and i will include the rear stand as well. The manufacturers warranty will last to at least October of this year if memory serves me correctly.

Good luck with the sale man. My gixxer is sitting in the garage still but will be gone when the dude comes to pick it up this wekend. Sucks selling shit, but the street sucks to ride on. When its time to buy another bike I will buy a race bike just for the track. That is really where its at.

thanks Colin. I have yet to try a track day, but i might have to if i end up keeping her.

I took it for a spin last night up to Mt. Charleston...ohh i missed that feeling...of freedom, of being able to take turns based on the size of my testicles...ahh...

anyways, i found out about cali bikes. Turns out California bikes have a 1lb. evaporation canister under the tail; that's it. Most people remove it since it doesn't really do much for you, but i'm sure it can be picked up really easily if need be. Shoot, i would just keep this as is without it, most people won't know to check for it anyway.

Re: FS: 2006 Scorched Yellow Triumph Daytona 675

IIRC, to bring an out of state bike (49 state model) into California, it has to have 7500 miles on it. Dont ask me why, but thats what i recall. If you really wanted to get it into Cali legally, the best bet would probably be having www.bluegauges.com recalibrate the speedo so that it reads over the required miles. Not sure if they do the Daytona or not, but worth a shot.

You gotta go out for a track day. Once you do that you wont want to even ride the street anymore. Its a completely controlled environment and you can push it as hard as you want without the worry of the usual bullshit found in street riding. The track is where its at.

I hear you though on the feeling of freedom when riding the bike. One of the greatest things ever. Thats why im not even taking the bike for a last cruise. I might not sell it then. Haha. Another one will come in due time though. Except it will be a dedicated race bike and will never see the street. Thats gonna be nice.

Apparently they dont do "mileage correction" for the Daytona. So much for that option.

Definitely throw it up on craigslist Yoogene. Thats where i sold mine. Way more hits there than any forum, cycle trader, etc..

Re: FS: 2006 Scorched Yellow Triumph Daytona 675

i know i can sell it if i put it up on craigslist, but i'm just trying to avoid dealing with those clowns. those people will offer you a half eaten sandwhich and a shoe for a bike. I'd rather it go to an enthusiast here who will enjoy it like i did. I'll give it another week or two and then i'll put it up there...

I hear you on the craigslist retards, but there are people on there that do know what things are actually worth. Thats how i sold mine. Dude came and picked it up just about an hour ago. He even drove 4 hours each way for it. The question is. Do you really want to sell it? Haha.

i imagine you'll have better luck with CL than here, much wider audience. granted you'll have to deal with flakes, lowballers and internet-tire-kickers but that's easy enough to work around - just have people email you there phone # and work that way to weed out the time wasters. if they're serious they'll talk.

these are all minor annoyances given the massiva audience you have for free via CL.

Sounds good. Long rides are fine if you are on curvy roads. I'm not gonna lie, it's not the best cruiser bike because it has a more aggressive posture, but it's that posture that makes carving on mountain roads that much easier.

I thought the same thing, and just ride faster on the street then b4 on twistier non-city roads. I got 3 bikes, 1 GSXR750 for wrecking umm I mean track, a ZX-6 commuter and a big daddy pimpin TL1000. Always loved the throatyness of those triples though. GL on the sale.

Re: FS: 2006 Scorched Yellow Triumph Daytona 675

    thanks for the compliments fellas!

I actually made the fender eliminator after seeing a DIY on the forums. Just got some aluminum, cut, dremeled, bent and voila! I just took the turns off and made some tabs out of aluminum to offest the exhaust fairing. Took me a couple hours since i had to make a couple (i messed up the first ones) and bend the aluminum with paint cans, but it looks pretty slick.

It's been sitting since the last guy fell through. I had to ride it to work for that potential sale, but it fell through, so it has 517x miles on it now. I'll put up a couple more picts that i took when i get home...
