    Re: B6/b7 Mpg

^^ what Louis Said and ...

pretty easy ... the 1.8t has to work harder to speed up and such ... as where the 2.0 doesn't have to work as hard.

Study shows that the faster you get to the desired speed ( without flooring it of coarse ) and maintain the desired speed .. you use less fuel.

I just did a trip this past weekend and combined city and highway I averaged 23MPG. Thats not bad considering there was a few *sprints* mixed in there and have the mods listed below. did I mention I had the car full of people and went through some mountains? Not bad huh?

this is how I calculated the MPG
drove 383 miles b4 filling up .. ( practically empty but light came on about 341)
and we have a 16.6 gallon tank.
    383/16.6= 23.07MPG

BTW @ $4.15 a gallon... It hurt a lil bit .. better start getting used to it !

    Re: B6/b7 Mpg

i don't think that calculation is right.. you should fill up the car, reset the trip meter, drive until close to empty, fill up again, then take the milage driven and divide it by the number of gallons on the second fill up.

you don't use all 16.6 gallons of the fuel, so dividing by 16.6 isn't accurate

I guess I should have been more specific .... On my last tank of Gas .. that is what happened and yes i always reset my trip meter... so the mpg is based on that tank of Gas. I am still on the second tank of gas from my trip .. So I cant use that for this just yet. I am using the whole 16.6 gallons cause I lost the Receipt with the amount of gallons I filled up with .. I think it was like 15.87 or something like that... even though it gives me a 24.13MPG using the 15.87 gallons ... I rather use a lower MPG figure to be on the conservative side untill this tank is out.

I can repost MPG Figures when I fill up again .. but I might have to fill up b4 empty since the weekend is getting closer and I only commute 12 miles a day regularly.

    Re: B6/b7 Mpg

Anyone know how to adjust the readout of the average MPG or L/100KM on our B7 color DIS. Mine says I average 11L/100KM but when I did a manual calculation it said 9L/100KM. Here is how I calculated. Filled the tank up, reset the tripo, reset trip comp 2 and drove it for 470KM then filled up again. Basically I used 52 liters of fuel to drive 470KM. 470/52=9.03.

I just back home this weekend and the whole highway trip, I averaged about 32 miles per gallon, cruising at about 85-90 the whole trip.

I get 25-27 with a mix of around town and highway. If it's an all highway trip, I'll get over 30mpg. This goes down if there's added weight in the car though.

Accurate, I get this with a stage II chip FMIC and Exhaust.. If you are doing 60 on the highway constant, I have gotten over 33MPG trip log.

    Re: B6/b7 Mpg

when i had the fwd b7, i got just a hair over 500 miles on a tank, with pure highway driving (ie - fill up and didn't stop or get off the highway until i had to fill up again) and cruise control on at about 65. the most i've gotten with the awd b7 is 465, but it wasn't purely highway. both cars are stock w/ manual gearbox
