    Help with window problem please!

Alright, so here's the problem. My windows stopped working. None of the windows work by their respective switch on their door, but I can control all the windows from the main switch panel on the drivers door besides the drivers window. All I can operate is the passenger front and rear and the driver side rear window and only control them by the switches on the drivers door. I even tried turning the key in the door and only those 3 windows operate, not the drivers window. What could be wrong? I tried disconnecting the battery, checking fuses, etc. This is the only thing that doesn't work, everything else works on the car. Let me know what you guys think. Thanks

I sounds like the window control module on the drivers door. The lock button on mine broke, basically wouldn't stay depressed so I could only control the windows or hold downt the lock button while passengers controlled windows... try doing that... this did require the whole unit to be changed out, but I ended up with all new non-peeled swithces on the driver side door. The part is only about $160 bucks from the dealer.. if that is the case I can check the work slip for the part number for you later today..GL

Thanks for the reply... Is the window control module the piece that the switches are connected to? (I haven't taken these door panels off, but I'm assuming the setup is somewhat similar to other cars that I have). Do you happen to have a pic of the piece that needs to be replaced? Thanks again

No pic at the moment... but the dealer fixed mine and I believe it is all incorporated into the switches themsleves since I ended up with new switches, I'll double check the manual also to varify... I can get the part number for you this afternoon since I am at work at the moment

Ok I checked the manual and it appears to be one solid unit... I couldn't copy the pic for some reason but if you take the door panel off, the switch module is held in place by two clips on the bottom and it slides out and unplug the wiring harness. The part number from my work slip is (8Z-959-851-B-5PR) and like I said you end up with nice new switches out of the deal for anyone else reading this. I would verify with the dealer before just to make sure this is right.

True, I did do that to no avail, but thanks pondside for being so helpful, if the car doesn't sell saturday I'm going to run to the dealer and grab one of those.

Interesting, my lock button will not stay down either. Seems there should be a recall on this and this way we all can get new unpealed switches
