Anyone else with sunroof rattle?

Driving me nuts. If the roof is popped open or all the way open, there's a rattle like metal on metal every time I go over a bump. Only noticed it now since the temp has gone up. Anyone else have the same issue?

mine doesn't just rattle. when i go through bumps ramps whatever that flexes that chasis the headliner/sunroof area squeak and rattle. i got used to it though. can't expect too much from German cars.

ya i have the same problem, mine is caused because of loud bumping =\

its annoying either way.

Mine rattles when it's closed, open/all the way or just lifted, i took it to the dealer three times and they "fixed it". When it completely fails then they will know what's wrong.

My fix: Just get a good song and pump up the volume! :D

Mine rattles when I pump up the volume. I have a sub though. If I hold the headliner down in between the reading lights and the sunroof opening, it goes away.

Mine makes a clicking sound over bumps when fully open, sounds like the cover and not the actual glass. I took it to the dealer and it was "operating as designed"

I work with a mayor TV manufacturer and they have a similar problem with some chassis of LCD and PLASMA TV, what they do to fix it is, the technician inserts little pieces of rubber around the bezel and the tighten the screws.

I've going to try something similar with the headliner using carboard just to make tighter and see if it works.

As for the sunroof, im just hoping it breaks before I hit 50k miles, if i get close i'll make sure to give the sunroof a "hand" so the dealer can fix it. >:D

mine's been rattling ever since i got the car. I made it worst by adding the subwoofer. The first time I brought it in for an oil change, I mention about the rattle but they said that they will TRY to take a look at it if they have time and if not..then bring it in another day. So pretty much I never tried to bring it in after that, I learned how to deal with it. Dropping the car only made me get more rattles

I don't have any rattles, but it has a squeeky/rubbing noise when closed and the car chassis flexes (e.g. bumps).

I did a repair on this recently. Take out the sunroof and you you can see the guides for the sunroof. The sit in a rail and have a plastic piece that keeps them in place. Mine popped off and it was just loose in the headliner. Fished it out, glued it back on, adjusted the sunroof and no more rattle!

Mine starts making noise about every six months. Takes about 2 minutes to put this on the rubber: noise is gone.

All I want to know is if we can remove that part that rattles in the vid. cuz mine is completly broken and i want to know if we need that for anything? because if we don't i really want to remove it.

The post above and youtube link were very helpful in fixing my sunroof today. No more annoying rattle and low rpm noise!
