    Re: glossy blackout grill diy???

Off topic, but does anyone know if a gradient has ever been tried on the four rings?

I'm not sure if it would look dirty, or just out of place..

    Re: glossy blackout grill diy???

No, not painted. I know about the painted. I mean taking the rings, and doing a gradient from one color to another.

Let me start up Photoshop and I'll post a sample of what I mean..

    Re: glossy blackout grill diy???

well, i went out and tried it... got some Dupli-color SUV, van and truck black paint and clear coat... wet sanded the chrome, had some good layers of black then some 3 of clear (first two light, and the third had more to it) ended up pretty good. then polished the clear (once it was 100% dry) and I must say im pretty happy with the end result. probably gonna sand it again on the weekend and do a better job with more time and light. but it can be done pretty easy... ill post pics once i have the one done on the weekend.
