    lower camber bolt?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I'm outside right now trying to remove this bolt, but the nut on the opposite side is spinning along with the bolt. Well, at least I think it's a nut, because it's covered. How do I go about removing this pain in the ass? The nut end, or where the nut should be seems to be made out of hard rubber.. that doesn't come off, or maybe it does, let me know before I break something?

The first person to help me out gets free beers. Only requirement is you have to come/be in boston!!

    Front or rear suspension?
put a wrench on the head of the bolt and a socket & ratchet on the nut.
    Pictures?

    rear suspension.

there's no where for me to place another wrench to hold one end still. i think i'm just over looking something very obvious because i don't see anyway for this to come off.

i'll run inside now and grab my camera. give me 10-15 minutes if you'll still be around.

    thanks

    Re: lower camber bolt?

I just looked under my car yesterday as a friend of mine was aligning it. There's supposed to be an eccentric nut And bolt for the camber adjustment.
I think what you're looking at is the adjustable Toe arm and the nut you're attempting to loosen is the nut for the "ball joint" link at the spindle. It's not a true ball joint, but rather a tie-rod style flex joint that happens to be a ball & socket design.

Only recommendation I have is to get an impact on it, or if you have a larger set of slip-joint pliers(aka channel locks) to grab the spindle ear and the tie rod end and try to force them together more, so that the cone of the tie rod will help you hold the bolt/threads from turning.

Sometimes the threaded end of that has an allen in it. You can put an allen wrench in it and turn the nut with a box end wrench.
