looks like a decent kit -- but for that price you might as well save and be patient then pick up a used racetec or something.

i'd look for a similar core, and then DIY the piping.

Don't buy cheap intercoolers from ebay. What people don't understand is that the thickness counts in being effective and the fins inside.

It looks pretty good for being a solid $700-1000 less $$$$$ than the name brand stuff.

If someone was selling that kit on this site I bet it would go for that or more.

you dont want a tube and fin intercooler anyway... bar and plate! but some of the cheaper cores wont have many fins between the bars

if you can do the bending, it might not be bad, but you will have to bend it right, weld on DV line and boost sensor fittings... racetec from [email protected]

^not always true. it depends on your application and intended use. some tube and fins provide better cooling, less heat soak, and less pressure drop than bar and plate IC's on the same car.

i read all about it once, can't remember where. I need to read it again.

Looks like the Evolution Motorsports core with different piping. 2" or 2.25" piping is more than sufficient for K03 power

My O.CT core was tube and fin and it worked great, even with the GTRS and 3071R

    Re: Ebay intercooler worth it?

personally i think its a great kit, a friend of mine just ordered it and we put it on a few nights ago, the thread is on here somewhere.... Installation was a breeze and he said he felt a hp increase... Its a real solid kit and everything down the the couplers were great. One thing that I should add for anyone who is considering this kit is to get better hose clamps, Preferably T clamps because the quality of the clamps in the kit is horrendous and I think that I broke every single one (with a stubby Screw driver) and they were not even close to being tight. On our test drive the day later we blew off a coupling connecting to the Throttle body because of the clamps. But other than the hose clamps this is a Great kit. Recommended by me and my friend as well.

i wouldn't run screw clamps on anything that'll see boost anyways...

    Re: Ebay intercooler worth it?

yeah I personally have One screw clamp on my intercooler setup and the coupling blows off at 19lbs. So i cant even drive my car right. But after I rip my bumper off again Ill put a real clamp on it.
