    Question about Extended CPO Warranty

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I just found out that my A4 is still under extended CPO warranty till 6/6/08 .... my car has a CEL (system too lean, misfiring) which im almost certain its the o2 sensor , regardless , i asked my dealership if o2 sensors are covered, and they said no .. i asked about MAF's, they said no.. only "major" parts are..

is that true? or is that bs?

they also said they want $100 for diagnostics, because its a 1 hour job ........

    Eh?

Re: Question about Extended CPO Warranty

I thought with the CPO warranty you only had to pay a $50 (or $100) deductible for every visit to the dealer and you would be taken care of regardless of what's done.

Re: Question about Extended CPO Warranty

most palces will charge an hour labor to check the CEL but in reality it takes about 5 minites and all they need to do is plug in a plug under the dash near the hood release. i think that any place checking the CEL should be free beucase of the lack of work involved, but hey thats just me

Re: Question about Extended CPO Warranty

I had a similar experience with the CEL/MIL (thinking that it could be a knock sensor, coil pack MAF or gas cap). The 'tech' said that I should run some premium fuel through my car, despite telling him that I use 91+. That cost me an hour's worth of 'labour'. If problem not solved, then during the next oil change, they will flush the engine (I don't know if he meant the injectors or cylinders).

After ripping out of there, I contacted Audi Customer Service to tell them I was not happy with the service and the outcome of the diagnostics I paid for. They said that unless something is broken, they will replace it under the extended warranty plus $50 deductible. The diagnostic charge and the tech's recommendations still stand.

Some service techs are easy going and will replace the part since CPO is sort of paying the bill, others, I find are sticklers for following the book.

You can always phone Audi customer service and they can tell you what is covered under your warranty, they might need you VIN.

    Cheers

I know how long it takes, I have vag-com at home, and I already know what my codes are.

so maybe I should call up audi and ask them if the o2 sensors are covered under CPO warranty

I just dont know what to do right now, in regards to if I should take my car and leave it with Bryan @ IT, or try to get my o2's changed for basically free..

It just bothered me a bit when the tech told me that only "major" things are covered under warranty .. and nothing electrical is covered .. and right before he told me that, he tells me about how everything is electrical these days .. so wtf lol

I dont get how o2 sensors arent considered major either, I mean if ur o2 sensors are fucked, ur car is basically running like ass, and could be causing more emissions (i think?) .. so just ranting ..

but if u guys got any advice for me that would be great

Re: Question about Extended CPO Warranty

CPO doesn't cover wear and tear items like the original warranty, its not as comprehensive as the original warranty on these cars. I don't think O2 sensor will be covered. For those sorts of things if you have scanned your car take it to IT and get it dealt with.

As for the deductible, you will have to pay the 50 per visit, unless it is a return for the same problem that was never really solved. Saying that, there are some dealerships that if you bought and service through them waive it, I was lucky I never paid a cent for any warranty work after the initial CPO cost.

Yeah, had a few bad experiences here too. And my deductible is 100$, not 50$. It changed at some point. They do charge 100$ for just about anything. Heck, at 110$ per hour it doesn't take much. Take the car in plug, take it out, fill the damn forms and you've got 100$ spent

Or buy full vag-com system and bring them the print out and tell them to blow it up their ass
