I have a question I know our cars bolt pattern is 5 x 112 but will a 5 x 100 or 5 x 114.3 fit ? The reason being im about to drop 3k on wheels and tires, the volk GT-M or volk ce28 both of which i can get on a 35 or 33 offset, and does anyone know what the heck the offset means anyways ? Please help !!__!!

    Re: Volk Wheels

I would try to find something in a 5x112 bolt pattern if I were you. There are adapters out there to go from 5x100 to 5x112 but I've yet to personally see anyone use them. As for offset, the general consensus is 32-35mm for most plus sized set-ups

    Re: Volk Wheels

Not sure if you went this route yet, but try to find Volk's Japanese website, they actually list some of their euro fitments. Not all wheels are available in the 5x112, but many are offered in 5x112 with 32-35 mm offsets. If you've been to the US distributors site, Mackin Industries, they only list the import applications.

    Re: Volk Wheels

the 5 implies the # of bolts (which Im sure we all know) and the 112 is the measurement seen here on the 5 bolt pattern pic

So if you were to measure from the back of the hole to the center of the 2nd hole on our stock wheels you will get a measurement of 112 mm or about 4.4 inches

    here is a link...

    Re: Volk Wheels

lots of vw guys use adaptors but they're usually in 25+mm spacer setups. so youd need like a 15 offset wheel to make it right i think

Its actually the other way arround...you will need a hight et to make that wheel adapter to work...say a wheel 8.5 inches in width with an et of 50 to make sure the wheel wont poke out too much. The lower the et the more clearence you will have for bigger breaks but the more your wheel stick out from the hub which will stick out the wheel well.

5 x 114.3 wont fit.You will need custom hubs...i.e. take your 4 hubs to a machine shop and have them put in studs in a 114.3mm diameter. This is what Jeremy@Matrix did for my A4 in order to run the Volk SE37K's.

    Re: Volk Wheels

With a +50 offset, you might run into clearance problems like the inner part of the rim might hit suspension parts.
