So I'm not sure what the problem could be but just today I was at a stop sign waiting to go and the car starting sputtering, not stalling out just sort of sputtering while I waited and then while driving it was surging at low rpms in first gear but after that it was fine, oil was changed about 1500 miles ago and timing belt was done about 5k ago ,its a 99.5 1.8tqm w/145kother than that i have no more info that might help

    thanks in advance

bad tank of gas? Try possibly an octane booster or drygas. that should help a bit.

ok well on the way home it totally stalled out as i was waiting for someone to pull into their driveway, and there is no CEL but it sort of feels like the turbo may be failling

Clean out the throttle body. Use a cleaner and an old toothbrush. Might be a carbon ring formed around the throttle plate causing no air to get by at idle or low RPMS!
