Any experiences with these downpipes? FI/Tantrum Werks are running a sale, split collector DPs, cats and adapter pipe for $1,200. Any better bang for the buck out there? I have a Milltek CB, and the matching DPs are $2,500...shyte! BTW my car is a tip.

$395 piggies from VAST are certainly more attractive that $1,200, if the K03s aren't pushing enough volume to warrant the DPs.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

Uhhh, $425 shipped for a full turbo-back from SSAC seems to beat everything hands down.

And you can't argue that it sucks either. Plenty of S4 owners run them now and are very happy.

Re: SSAC, it looks from the pics on their website that the setup doesn't include main cats?

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

TT sells some with cats for 800 something and I'd imagine it will be cheaper with just test pipes like I'm going to get.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

I have the Fast Intentions Split Mouth DP's with their test pipes which from there I did a dual 2.5" into a single 3.5". It both responds phenomenally and sounds phenomenally. If you ever intend to go with a bigger turbo, then just do the downpipes right the first time and dont waste money on something else only to trash it later. If you are going to go KO4, then get the Split Mouth DP's now.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

I have the Labree split dp's (same as FI) and they sound awesome! No cats, dual 2.5" to single 3" before the first (Borla) muffler. The turbo spool is incredible!! I bought from another member and they came with custom cutouts. Those are a whole different story!

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

I spoke with Brent LaBree yesterday, and he told quite a tale of huge HP increases over normal DPs or piggies due to his split-pipe design. I'm pretty sure he said 75 rwhp gain over stock, which I find impossible to believe. Other DP mfgs and VAST re: piggies say ~15-20 gain. Sweed, whatya think is real power gain?

I also spoke with Danny at FI, apparently he used to work for LaBree but split off to do his own gig, thus the nearly identical designs.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

I cannot say because I never had my stock dps dyno'd with my new setup. I'll be dynoing in a few weeks for the first time. Here is their site with dyno graphs.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

Yeah, I just saw those dyno runs. That is more realistic, equating to 19 rwhp gain (assuming 40% loss from crank) for a tip. Sweed, did you DIY install or have them done? If so, how many hours labor did the shop charge.

I had a shop do it along with all my other stage 3 goodies.
It was nearly nothing for labor to put DP's in with the engine out.
Otherwise, its around 5-6 hours I think to do a swap ~ $350-400. some shroter some longer.

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

Do not DIY, trust me from experience. I just go over that shit last weekend, I had to end up having the car towed to my Indy shop b/c I couldn't get the DP out w/ the car on jack stands. Oh, and my indy shop quoted me 4 hrs, $250 FTW!!! Oh, and 75whp is bullshit!!!!! Try 20-30, but even 30 is pretty conservative IMHO

    Re: Fast Intentions DP

Yea, I'm decent with a wrench but I would never try DPs without a lift. I have gotten labor quotes from 4 to 12 hours, I'm gonna try the 4-hr shop which is also the least expensive ($65/hr vs $120 at stealer...who quoted me 8hrs btw).

Now to choose btwn piggies and DPs...
