Any NY/NJ/CT dealers I should avoid (for buying a new A4)?

    Hi,

I am getting ready to do battle with my local dealers. I was curious if there is anyone that is notoriously terrible to deal with?

    Thanks,
    Rich

I would ignore Englewood Audi in NJ and I have heard Riverside Audi is pretty good. You might want to post this in the regional forum, thats where this type of info is supposed to be posted.

I'd go to riverside in West New York or DCH in Millburn. Stay away from Jack Daniels, they're a bunch of asses

I disagree. I got a pretty good deal over at Englewood and the people over there were great to deal with.

I have to disagree with Quigaboo: Just bought my A4 from them last week, cheap, painless, and easy. Atlantic on the other hand are THE worst. Sales and Service wise.

Obviously, not everyone on here is going to agree. IMO, dch millburn sucks. Just a bunch of lazy asses, from my several experiences. They had me going in circles for a good 3 weeks because of a problem I had. Bought mine at Jack daniels, no problems.

I just got my car from Riverside Audi in West New York NJ, but they are moving to Secaucus, the help was awesome no hassle, no pushiness, you could negotiate, ask for Joe he hooked me up

Riverside has a very large inventory in general so they are a good choice if you want alot of options. I have heard multiple things about Town Motors in Englewood that are negative . I've heard that Jack Daniels doesn't give every customer their full attention because they are always selling to very affluent individuals and devalue the average customer but I have not dealt with them first hand.

avoid new country audi in greenwich, ct... sales is ok but the service department makes you want to kill people. you'll find you know more about your car than the service advisor does. and they just bullsht you and run you around all day.
VW Touareg V10 TDI. Don't mess.

Understeer is when you hit the wall with the front of the car and oversteer is when you hit the wall with the rear of the car. Horsepower is how fast you hit the wall, torque is how far you take the wall with you, Body kits and decals are how much of a mess you leave on the wall.

I should have rephrased my question. I am likely going to service the car where I live (though I would travel for Danbury Audi). I am more curious where the best place to buy (not service). Or does that not matter (all Audi's are created equal...)?

They had me test drive a car and leased it to me after a painfull negotiation process. When I was going to pick it up, it turned out the car I drove was not the package I agreed to and they in fact did not even have the car I wanted at all (after telling me the car I drove was the car I would be picking up). They did not want to refund my money even though I only signed a commitment and not an actual contract stating that they did not have to. It then took about 15 phone calls and 2 weeks to get my money back.

The salesmen Henry was a Jerkoff. The manager was a complete asshole. I know the owner of legend Audi as turns out that he was a client of mine and he is the most crooked degenerate in the bunch.

I went to Acnchor and had the best car leasing experience of my life!

i laughed at dch when they tried charging extra for the certified pre-owned status on their used vehicles. not worth dealing with imo. riverside is supposed to be good, rahway and mendham are good, flemington is hit or miss.

well they were very pushy when I was trying to buy a car from them out of state. The salesmen just had a very negative approach/attitude. As there are at least two others on here that told me there cars were scratched or dented when they went in for service and town wouldn't take fault. I even started a thread myself back in december about town motors, just do a search.

I don't remember the name of the dealer I went to, it's on rt 17. When I tried to the price down $1000 the sales person suggested I should look in to a use one. I was insulted and Lt.

Riverside Audi in Secaucus its a really good place. Like many ppl said they have a big inventory and you could negotiate. Paul Miller, jack daniels are too freakin expensive just because of their name, riverside had the same A3 and A4 that i was looking for 3-5k less than the other guys.

I bought a A3 brand new and a pre-owned A4 with 9k miles and it is freaking brand new. Joe or Nelson can hook u up in the pre-owned dept.

Jack Daniel's is a bunch of lying cocky idiot's.... I went there and put a deposit on an S4.... they sold it out from underneath me and wouldn't return my deposit for over several months. Finally got that back, and went over to Bell Audi, great place, friendly people.... test drives are kind of shitty due to the busy road, so try to go non-rush hour and not during lunch time'

Avoid New Country Audi in Greenwich. They sold me my A4, but refused to give me bill of sale & changed the numbers with Audi Financial. Now I'm in process of suing them. They are a very crooket franchise, part of New Country Group.

I second Bell Audi. Able to negotiate, and my test-drive was soo crappy too haha. It's a busy area but that is the only issue with the place.

i bought an S4 at mendham. worst dealer. they don't back up what they say. I had a few issues with the car they didn't address and their preparation sucks. Left the car for a week with them and they fixed nothing. No license plate in the front.. no batttery cover.. scratches thye promise to buff....fogged headlights .... Now i have to deal with a car that makes noises every time i turn at low speed. i spent more times taking my care to the shop than enjoying it .. very Sh!tty dealer .. stay away

hoffman audi in hartford is horible, their sales people will ignore you unless you look like you have a lot of money....then when you get someone to talk to you its almost impossible to test drive something unless you swear up and down that your going to buy something that day.

I went to Valenti in watertown, ct .. they were great worked with me on price, had the car detailed before I picked it up, and my experience with their service department has been great.

Town Motors provided me with a solid car at a great price, so no complaints here. I came in, sat down with the sales rep and the GM, and worked out a deal. Was originally going to purchase a different car from Paul Miller Audi, but they spiked my rates at the last moment so I up and left. If you are looking into Town Motors, send me a PM, I will refer you to the salesman I dealt with.
