Getting a little bit closer to the ground. Question on bump stops.

    Hey guys,

I searched around, and asked a few guys via PM, but I have a question when going from the Non-sport > S-Line/Sport suspension. I bought the suspension from Tribe in the BM. He used the Rubber Stops from the sport shocks on his new C/O's.

My question is, can I use my non-sport bump stops (orange, not red), or should I order new ones before swapping my suspension? My setup has 18k on it, the sport suspension has 700 miles on it. I was thinking that maybe I should order 4 new bump stops, but I wanted to ask the experts to be certain. Thanks for the help!

2 Part question: I'm buying new tires and getting rid of my BFG KDWs. I'm not a track guy, and i have no performance mods on my car. Looking for ride quality, durability and grip. I'm looking at the Potenza 760 Sport, Potenza RE-01R, Dunlop Sp Sport Maxx, GoodYear Eagle F1 All Season, Pirelli PZero Nero.

Any thought on which one to consider?

Ideally, you want to order new ones though you (or your installer) can cut your non sport ones down if need be.

Thanks. I'll just order a new set from purems. They're 10/each, so I'll buy new ones.

I'd suggest Pirellis, I have them and love them

I've been leaning towards these myself, but I read that a lot of people find them unresponsive like the P6 all season.

pirelli significantly improved the pzero line because the p6's weren't good at all. The best thing to do is check tirerack.coms tire ratings, you can even call them and ask for the buys opinion, they have terrific customer service.

I have the goodyear f1 AS, they handle pretty well. I had the p6 before, as they came with the car stock.

Its hard to do a back to back, since I put the goodyears on 19"s and dropped the car as well on Stasis c/o, but if you ask me I would say they handle better in the dry and the wet handle isn't compromised at all either.

I had a stock S-line/sport suspension, I wasn't too impressed with the setup with the p6 so I would say avoid them.

Personally, I think you're wasting your money getting new bumpstops. The stock sport suspension is still pretty tall and chances are your bumpstops will never come into use (unless you know lots of fat chicks). Trim about 1/4" off the regular bumpstops with a razor blade and call it a day.

Use the $40 to get a snub mount or something.

Haha, dont know many fat chicks, and the fiancee tips the scales at 105, so I think I'm golden there. I'll save the 40 bucks and have the installer shave a 1/4 inch from mine. I just wasnt sure if the ride quality would suffer by reusing the parts I have.

    Thanks for the input!
