    Carbon Fiber Mirrors

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Just wanted to get some input from those out there who might already own carbon fiber mirrors. How do you guys find them standing up to stone chips b/c i know that my painted ones take a bit of a beating after a while.

    Thank you

DO IT.... oh and let me know how it looks lol so i can jock ur style...

but on the chipping part im sure if you take them to a paint/body shop theyll spray a few coats of CLEAR on it for you for not much cost....which will protect it .... but might add a bit of glossyness to it... but ya idk just a thought may be they can give u better idea as well on what to do ....

So you got housings also right? Maybe im confused....are these cover supposed to go over the original mirror? i have no instructions on these things....haha

How will your housings get installed ? or will yours replace the whole mirror or just a cover also?

    Thanks

haha woah woah woah your supposed to take the original ibis white housing off and then your supposed to put these on instead, they just dont slide right over. nah i ordered the OEM s4 brushed aluminum housings..hmm i think they have a DIY around here somewhere. if you can get them on the cf would look real good. i found a DIY for a b6 but its the same exact install. just follow the instructions.

Hey guys, clear-bra your CF mirror covers! That'll help them last longer! Not to mention it may also offer a certain degree of extra protection from the sun too (depends on the brand, I know some companies have a clear-bra that may have some UV protection too).

Guys, the hong-kong mirrors are just caps not housings, which means that you glue them on. It is not a great deal, I ordered them like a year ago and they did fit fine but as the ad said but they are caps which as for my self was not good enough for my german car...

    I would NOT recommend these...

If you are ok with them being CAPS then go ahead b/c they do look like great quality but I on the other hand to be honest was not aware that they were caps and now am a bit disappointed, but I blame nobody but myself for not reading it properly.

i really like it alot...except for the second pic you can still see the white from the housing. if the whole thing was carbon fiber that would be sick, but the cf definitely looks good

Yeah the actual look of CF on the white is really nice but that is why i put the second pic also because its just a shell that is placed on top of the mirror. I guess it gives a good idea of what it will look like before you spend the money :)

you know what? i think i just may end up doing this eventually...even though i would prefer the whole housing to be cf. i think ill give this a shot. it kind of looks like you painted the front part of the housing ibis white and then the rest cf...you can always tell people you did that haha

    Re: Carbon Fiber Mirrors

I was even thinking of perhaps painting the mirrors black and then put these on top again, but whenever i look at it it kind of stick with the black/white theme of the titanium and the mirrors being black and white :)

Even though i would still want the whole housing but not for $600 :(

those carbon fiber mirror housing are so sick...wow..i dont feel like spending 400 on them though haha. maybe EVENTUALLY durig the summer but not now. are you looking for a cf lip spoiler? i actualy have one from the dtm editiion s4 and its an oem one that fits the s-line trunk. i had it on for about a month or so but then took it off. i like how the stock integrated trunk looks. it's in perfect conditio. it was mad pricey when i bought it. i'll give it to you for 220 plus shipping. (i bought the thing for 400). lemme know man.
