    Quick Intake Question..

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
So I'm going to buy either a BoostedTech or a EvoMs intake within the next couple days.. First, can I hear the positives and negatives (other than loss of HP) of the two.. And second, no matter which one I go with will I have to find/make a heatshield?

    Thanks,

I cannot tell you the difference it makes. Do a heat shield 100%.

My heat shield was slipping a bit down towards the cat so heat was going to the intake side. Ridiculous lag... Now I fixed it and its much better

    Re: Quick Intake Question..

Ok so my one question has already been answered, I need to buy a heatshield from this guy (http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...ht=heat+shield) plus a EvoM's or a BoostedTech intake.. Well does anyone have any say on why I should go with the EvoM's intake vs the Boosted Tech? Theres a differance of about $60...

Bought matts.... I regret it though.

Its not a solid model There are gaps that allow heat in under the snorkel and again I was having fitment issues. After 20 minutes of driving it would slide down and do nothing at all.

When it does work, it helps pretty well but its not fool proof. Ideally it should mount onto something and shouldnt have any gaps

    Re: Quick Intake Question..

So can I get a filter and a oil filter with a heatshield and have the same sound as if I bought a EvoM or Boosted Tech intake?

    Re: Quick Intake Question..

I have the boosted tech and i had to do a Paypal Dispute to get any response or product from them. Once it FINALLY CAME I do have to admit that it was a pretty easy install and haven't have a problem or engine lights with it. The heatshield that came with it was sufficient IMO especially since the filter is directly behind the headlight really.

It's one of those mods that you do for your ego and the purists will cook you pretty badly for it. PM me if you want tons of details. I run it with a Turbosmart hybrid and freak out anyone within earshot. While running an APR +1 it isn't obnoxious, but it is LOUD unless you chill and granny shift it after hours.

Get used to the question...WTF was THAT?
**With all the noob mods I've bought, I've learned that cars are just motorcycles with training wheels. Married men can buy whatever we want as long as one of the purchases is a comfortable couch**
