Can Super Charger On 1.8t Or Bi Turbo It??

i was just thinking about it... i saw a a m3 with supercharger and turbo at the same time... can a4 handle it...

hrmm still i dont think thats a good idea.
bi turbo would be too much work with a 4 cyl
easiest thing would be stage 3. if you want power.

people do it a lot on STi's also.. it would work on a 1.8t if you put enough time and money into it. but no one will... and i don't blame them

I'm sure you could super and turbo charge a 1.8T if you had a 1 off custom build with stand alone EMS. Motor would only blow if you ran too much boost. Not worth it though.

The point of super/turbo charged motors is not to provide huge gains, but a strong powerband with a small motor. Supercharger for off idle and mid range boost...turbo charger for high rpm boost.

a biturbo on a 1.8T would just suck ass in the turbo lag department unless you had some tiny turbos, like smaller than a k03. you'd be running each turbo off of two cylinders of exhaust flow, which from .9liters of displacement is not much.
like said above, the turbo/supercharged idea is a good one if you're looking for a great powerband.
if you're looking to make big power, stroke the block, and throw a big ole turbo on there and pump up the boost.

A parallel twin turbo would, in fact, be rather stupid. I think people are talking about sequential turbos for the 1.8.

Also, VW has a twincharger on the Euro Golf. Not sure if they plan to bring that stateside though.
