Um, I really dont recommend springs, even if it is just for cosmetic reasons... I put springs on my new car for cosmetic reasons, and although I am loving the looks of the car lowered, I am kind of regretting it. Springs make the ride very bouncy, which is very noticeable on speed bumps and bad roads. A pair of shocks, which I will probably end up buying, will improve the ride considerably and is much cheaper than getting a full coilover kit. So, my 2 cents, if your buddy doesnt want to spend a ton of money on coilovers, then I recommend for him to buy a set of springs along with a set of shocks.

How many miles are on his factory springs? I might be willing to trade my HR sport springs that were on the car when I bought it, a little to stiff for me.
