    Alarm always going off?

Not sure if anybody else has experienced this but i was getting ready for work this morning and my alarm was sounding off, i tried to re-arm/silence it but it would work. So instead i used my key to turn it off and unlock the doors. then the car armed itself locked the doors and the alarm started to go off again.

This happened repeatdly until i disconnected the battery terminal

Could this be due to the battery in my keyless enty going dead?

    Re: Alarm always going off?

thats funny, I had the same problem about a year ago. I found out that the reason for my alarm going off was the construction site nearby, the trucks going by caused such a vibration that it kept going off and wouldn't give up......in your case I'm not too sure, construction site nearby?? lol

    Re: Alarm always going off?

It sounds like it could be the hood or trunk lid sensor. The sensor detects if the trunk or hood is opened while the alarm is set, when the sensor is bad the alarm will randomly go off when the cars locked.

It happened to my car, i unplugged the sensor.

LOL, maybe i wasn't clear enough. The car will arm itself look doors and sound the alarm by itself, the buttons on my key won't turn it off unless i use the key to disarm it. Even then i get into the car and you can see the locks going up and down trying to lock themselves.

if you actually seen it you would think the car was possesed.

among other things like my windows not rolling down, an than a hour later they do. Hopefully i'll get the other ECU this week cause i think that is my problem

    Re: Alarm always going off?

Theres a button on the drivers side on the b-pillar for the interior motion sensor, push it to turn it off. I had a problem with mine going off constantly especially with the windows or sunroof cracked.

    Re: Alarm always going off?

Ok, very interesting that you started this thread because I was going to start one as well.

My car has been ringing on and off without me realizing. I always wondered why I had codes for the car alarm. It seems to have to do with the interior motion sensor thing. That's what my vag-tool lists it as. However, when I tried pushing the button inside the car to turn off the motion detector, there were no lights, no sounds.... nothing. So I don't know if the detector is off or not anymore.

Also, the alarm seems to only go off during times when my car has it's windows open.

The interior sensor is an air pressure sensor. (Not a motion sensor) If you leave the window open a gust of wind can trigger the alarm. There is a button on the B pillar (the pillar in between the driver and passenger door) that disables the air pressure sensor. I press that when I leave my windows cracked and my alarm doesn't go off anymore.
Apparently there is a Vag code to turn down that sensor. It's on my to-do list but haven't gotten around to it. Here's the AW thread about it.

    Hope that helps.

    Re: Alarm always going off?

Yeah, i know where the alarm senseitivity button is. I'm kinda a noob but i;m not that bad.lol It's my ECU, almost certain. When i try to VAG-COM the car it says ECU non communicatable, or something like that and it throws like 12 codes, my windows dont always roll up or down,

Plus i dodn't think a senstivity button has anything to do with the alarm arming and disarming itself.

Another example: Car arms itself/ none of the doors lock. how can the alarm arm itself without looking the doors?

JayyyyyyyyC: pretty sure sensetivity button sounds like your issue, the button has a light on the left corner right next to the car symbol, it's very hard to see. Red it's on. no-light is off. let me know if see it.

    Re: Alarm always going off?

I was searching around and found this thread on the air pressure alarm sensitivity button on the B-pillar... what illumination disables the air pressure alarm ? My alarm had been going off the past few days, so this morning I pushed that button once and a little light above the illuminated car came on, does that mean it has been disabled ?

    Re: Alarm always going off?

just found the answer on a different thread, when the light above the car is illuminated, the air pressure sensor is disabled. However I read that some people think it's a motion sensor on/off switch, and some people think it's an air pressure sensor on/off switch, what is it ?
