    Turbo or DV going out?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hello all, I got this noise when i accelerate after car has been off for a couple hours or more. It sounds like an STi (think coilpack failure without the shaking). Its also not as loud. it goes away after a min or so. I'm just worried that it might be a sign of bad things to come. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I'd like to fix it.

Would this sound just start out of no where? I've had the car for more than 2 years and just recently started? also I am chipped if that matters.

can you better describe the noise or better yet take a sound bite? SAI should always be there, if it is a whistling noise then the DV may have died

OK. first off, thanks for the responses.

I've listened to the sound again. its more of a flapping sound that goes faster when the RPM goes higher. i can hear the turbo and it sounds like it always has. it does go away after a min or so.
