    H&R Sport Springs = Rubbing?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Im running 18"s as my winters and when I drive over a dip on the road or a bump at speed, the tires are rubbing the inner fender - anyone else experience this?

When turning the wheels there is no rubbing what so ever, its only when hitting pot holes or bumps on the road going fast. Im just wondering if its necessary to go for new shocks? (i have OEM S-line shocks with the H&R's )

My other option is to go C/O's, which in that case - where can i get Voigtland's priced decently?

    Thanks in advanced.

Are you sure? If so, you're probably rubbing because the overall diameter of your tire is almost an inch larger than what you should be running.

Re: H&R Sport Springs = Rubbing?

I've found it to be a bit bouncy - i rode on my friend's Voigtland's S4 and he did not have the same problem as me. The car felt sturdy and planted, without all the bouncing

If you have stock shocks, then that is most likely the reason why your car is bouncy. Was your friend on stock shocks also?

Not surprising since that makes the overall diameter of your tire 0.1" larger than stock.

Re: H&R Sport Springs = Rubbing?

I think we have found the reason why.

    1. your winter wheels are 1" larger in overall diameter. as stated above
    2. Rubbing might also be caused because your wheels are an inproper offset, they might be too far into the fender.
    3. Stock shocks allow more travel than aftermarket, and your aftermarket springs are setup of aftermarket shocks. your aftermarket springs are probably causing alot of wear on the oem shock, and they might actually be completely worn out, meaning you might need new shocks. I would check that out as well

why did you buy 235/45 tires? and whom recommended them because they are the wrong size
