    I was purchasing new wheels for my b6 cabriolet and i started to thing, could i put my cabriolet's stock 17" wheels on my b5? Would they clear correctly?

    i had the b6 5spoke 17x7.5 et43 on my b5. with 235/45-17 tires i needed a 5mm spacers and extended lugs for the rear wheels because they rubbed the control arm up top. others have run the same with but with 225/45-17 and had no rubbing issues

    hmm...i test fitted one on the rear since i have a FWD and nothing rubbed, then again the tires on there now are i BELIEVE are 235-55-17's,but they may be 235-45-17...
    i guess i should just put them on and try it out,but from what i saw,there was no rubbing in the rear,well for 50 miles at least

    Yes,its 235/45/17...
    But you said your fronts cleared right?

    yes fronts cleared but not the rears. the suspensions are different between fronttrak and quattro so that could explain why your rears fit and mine did not
