    Suspension Advice

Hey guys well i've come to the point where i really wanna lower my car. currently i have the 03 sport suspension which is exactly the height of the 02 suspension! Question is this: i know u guys are gonna blabber about coilovers but i really can't afford those and with that money i can get all my body work done and still get springs and stuff! Currently the front is pretty high but in the back i barely have a 1 finger space! no there's no stuff in my trunk causing this! i have 18x8.5's with 245/40 ZR18's and they are some real meaty tires which i wanted so i don't curb rash and bend my wheels! issue is this: If i get Neuspeed sports for example, then i won't have that great stance but feel like i would still rub at the back! i want Neuspeed race springs but at the looks of it it appears to be suicide! So any help in deciding would be great!

heres a few ideas for you, I do recomend coilovers, I run the h&r's in mine and love it.... I would wait until waterfest(or westcoast equivient), go to it and look around normally you can get stuff on sale of find someone that is sellin some, keep lookin in the classifieds and wait, i think you'll be happier waiting and gettin em instead of the springs... also, one last thing, 'if you aint rubbin, then you aint dubbin'.... hahaha, as long as its fender liner you rub, dw about it imo that is....

    Re: Suspension Advice

What about bilstein sport shocks w/ lowering springs? I'm not sure how well stock sport shocks hold up w/ the lowering springs, but I know that the stock non-sport ones will almost be sure to blow. Keep in mind that if you just get springs and it destroys your shocks, you'll end up paying twice for labor to swap them out.

The only way you'll cut costs is buying used stuff; which, isn't that bad if you can find a good deal. For a new setup of Bilstein shocks/H&R springs, you're looking at about $500.

You can also find a decent deal on coilovers for that price, or maybe just a little bit more. Keep an eye on the classifieds, there's always deals going on in there.

    Re: Suspension Advice

Springs with stock shocks? There will definitely be accelerated wear and increased load on the shocks, but the biggest issue is that it's going bounce and handle like shit. I know from personal experience, and I only had Eibach Pro-Kit springs, with only a conservative drop, and already, the bouncing sucked. High speed cornering over uneven surfaces was downright dangerous as the backend just kept wanting to bounce off track.

C/Os are totally worth the extra few hundred dollars.

    Re: Suspension Advice

i was planning on getting the springs, and save up for shocks, maybe i won't even install the springs yet, but it's just that i wanna do it in steps cause it'd take me months to come up with enough to buy used c/o's! plus i don't want the hassle of making them even on all sides!

    Re: Suspension Advice

I just went from stock to Stasis Co's and it is worth every penny, and we were able to get them level all around in one shot and adjusting passenger front an additional time...
