    12.3 @ 113mph good?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Hey Guys, I made it to the track this weekend for the first with my APR Stage 3 and I wanted to ask if the results seem about right. My best for the day was a 12.3 @ 113MPH. I was running 107 oct on the race fuel program. The track was Lebanon Valley speedway which is ~600ft above sea level and the temp was in the mid to upper 80's. I cut a 1.74 60ft on my bridgestone blizzaks.

    Does this seem about right?

BTW - That was a C5 Z06 with drag radials...bet he was not happy.

thats not bad.....esp with temps in the mid 80's

you could be a little quicker up top....you should be able to get a 116 mph trap, but you are pretty much where a full-weight APR car should be, give or take

My left bank primary 02 keeps throwing a code as well. Could this be contributing to my low(er) trap speeds or could that just have been the temp? What should I check?

Well that's your problem. Change both front 02's, yours are on their way out (that's how they start).

I actually burned the tires off pretty bad on the 1st run, cutting a 2.0. I got the next two down to 1.76 and 1.74.

Did you log your R/A boost? Also when was the last time you pressure tested the car? Make sure that is all good.

On 104 map/gas APR car should run 11's with 1.7 60 foot and proper shifting.

    Good luck, GO APR!

Unfortunatly, I did not log anything. I will make sure to next time. What are the best channels to log while running?

As for the leak testing, where would be the best place to put the tester? I know how to build one and everything, but I have never used one on a twin turbo vehicle? On the end of the y-pipe?

    Thanks for your help!

Pressure test the car buy either building a tester adapter or buying one. The place to install the tester is right after the maf on the Y-pipe. Make sure you plug the PCV breather hose as well.

Before going to the track log 115 (Requested vs Actual Boost). Make sure they look nice and even after graphing so you do not have a boost leak. Do a TBA and you are good to go.

You can also start tweaking your car. We discussed when you can do in your other thread. Just remember every car is different, choose carefully and at your own risk. Best way is to do small adjustments and log to see changes. 021, 020, 115 and so on.

I thought with the APR race program (from Marc's posts) that tweaks didnt give any results?

I havent personally tried it... but have noticed huge differences with the 93 program.

For comparisons sake.. last year I ran a a 13.1 @ 111 witha 2.2 at 4000ft above.. and noticed the week after my F hose had a huge hold in it..

How do you figure? He detuned the 104 program to run 93 octane and made the car much faster. Search and look at his FATS times.

APR A/F ratio is very rich when unmolsted. They do that for safety reasons, leaner always = faster.

I am about to order a wideband. Where is the best location to put the sensor itself? Being that this is a V6, which bank is usually more lean?

Any way to up the boost on an APR kit?

I had bad luck with innovate, still having problems with their WB. Some friends have the AEM and it seems to work great.

To install, either downpipe works. I had my bung welded at the beginning of the cat back right after the downpipes. In the car installation requires the pod for the AEM on the other hand Innovate you can just double tape to the trim. The gauge is only an inch thick.

So far I have not found anyone who can increase the boost on the APR kit. :( Someone came close on Auidworld, do a search.

I had the Innovate LC-1 and Xd-16 gauge in my last car and it worked great. I have heard horror stories of the AEM. Regaurdless, thank your for the placement recomendation.

Damn, I wish there was an easy (proper) way to increase the boost on an APR car. Think it would be worth a shot to email them and ask?

    Thanks man!

I think what you mean is power shift (no lift shift)...speed shifting is without the clutch. Either way, no I didn't. My trans has been acting a little iffy lately and I wanted to make sure I was able to drive the car home.

He made the car faster on 93 octane...from a 93 octane perspective. Not using 104 on the 104 program.. I am about 99% sure he said that he couldnt improve the car using 104 on the 104 race program.

I'm in my dorm at school, and for some reason, this thread makes me want to go sit in my car. It was probably the pic you posted.

But your still running Blizzaks? Its at least 70 outside normally now! Impressive run though! What clutch do you have on your set up?

im pretty sure marc also changed his spring on his wastegate to achieve this so i dont think you could gt this just by programming ..although i did spike 31 psi on k04's on stage 2 programing ( got it changed to stage 3 minus that day lol) but i dont think that psi is possible w/o a few modifications although ii could be wrong. good run though

Thanks man! The clutch is a South Bend OFE and I would recommend it to anyone!

Does it feel like it holds the power well? And will it need to be replaced anytime? I'm just trying to get a feel for when I go stage 3. I want to get one good clutch and call it a day.

It holds the power great! I light up all 4 without an issue. The kit uses the RS4 PP and drives like a normal car. Like I said, I am very happy with the clutch and would tell anyone to get a southbend. I have also used their clutches three other times in my previous vehicles. I will never buy a clutch from an other company. Awesome customer service and very competitive pricing.
