    Question about a auto 1.8T???

    Well I'm a proud owner of a 1.8T Quattro...I have owned it now for about 2 months now...My question is about the extreme lag that my audi has. I under stand that it's turbo charged and awd but sometimes I just wanna kick myself in the butt for not buying a manual transmission. My friend has a 1.8T VW and it has a heck of a lot more pickup!!!

    Is there any other fellow automatic audi a4 owners out there that can let me know what they have done to help with this problem...I know adding a lot of mods would help but my pockets are just not that deep right now....

    I don't notice a ton of lag.. I have fwd but I hooked up the boost gauge and I can watch it build boost immediately

    Well see yours is a fwd not awd....i had a wrx that was manual and it had turbo lag more then other vehicles that aren't awd...to launch my subaru i had to rev to 5k rpm's and then go....With this automatic I'm not sure how to launch the vehicle properly....

    When I'm on the highway I use the sport shift and it works pretty well....but that is on the highway....

    there is a transmission recode via VAG-COM thread and the original poster is A4TL, search for that one. it will give you quicker shifts.
    for power, big turbo is the only way!

    take it for what it is, if u chip to stage 1 most of that lag will be gone, but anything more and ur really gonna kick urself in the butt, cause the shift programming on these cars after being chipped is just straight out stupid!
