20k service, control arm and alignment

2006 s-line, completely stock, on a lease (with warranty).

This winter, I slid into a curb in the snow, hitting the front right side pretty good. I took that wheel (which had a pretty nasty rash on it) and made it the spare, so there is no outward sign of the incident. Took the car to my backyard mechanic and he realigned it, but couldn't get it perfect because the lower control arm is bent on the right side. It's not terrible, but noticeable.

I am going in for my 20,000 mile service soon. Is there any way I can play dumb and get them to cover this under warranty? Obviously I can't play too dumb, since there will be evidence of a previous alignment being done.

The car is definitely driveable, but I'm a perfectionist and it's really driving me insane (plus, I can't use my steering wheel controls anymore).

I don't think a bent control arm will pass as warranty work... but you never know.

What do the steering wheel controls have to do with it?

Re: 20k service, control arm and alignment

Since it's slightly out of alignment now, I have to hold the steering wheel about a half inch off of center to keep it straight.

I have to hold the steering wheel up at 2 o'clock and 10 o'clock instead of keeping my hands at 3 and 9, where the steering wheel controls would be if the wheel was straight. I tried holding onto it at the regular spot anyway, but it is too uncomfortable.

Thanks for the response about the warranty work. Any idea what this job will cost from the dealer?
