has anyone installed a sunroof assembly???

I came out to my car last week and noticed someone shattered my sunroof for no apparent reason, just beautiful! I found a guy in MN that shipped a complete sunroof assembly with glass for cheap.

Now, a tech described the way to install this is to take off the A, B and C pillars inside the car, unbolt the handles on the headliner as well as the dome light, which then allows the headliner to come down. Then, there should be 8 bolts in which the assembly comes right out.

My question is how in the world can i take these A, B, C pillars off on each side if there is airbags inside them??? I dont want to have them set off and knock my ass out trying to take the pillars off. Is there a way to get around this?

Any insight and advise would be much appreciated, including anyone with expierence in doing this............thanks

Just make sure that you disconnect the battery and you wont have to worry about any air bag going off.

good point, is there any trick for poppin off these pillars? I just want to make sure im finding the right places in where the tabs would be before i attempt it. Last thing i wanna do is break these tabs off the backside of them and be screwed in buying new ones

Might want to ask in the S4 forum too, I know a few of them have pulled the sunroof out to replace it with the Fiber Images CF sunroof delete. One of the A4 guys also bought that part but not sure if he has put it in yet.
