    Tire brand mixing

I have two goodyear f1's that I want to toss on my summer rims but need two more tires. Was thinking I would be cheap and mix brands and was wondering what I need to worry about. As long as they are the same size should I be okay??

Use the same type of tire. Meaning (all summer or all season). Dont mix both of them together. Put the newer tires in the rear just in case of rain or any kind of high speed maneuver.

We discourage mixing tread patterns as well, because different tread patterns shed water and resist hydroplaning differently. Combine a different tread pattern with differences in tread depth, and things can get slightly unpredictable in wet weather.

    Re: Tire brand mixing

after my alignment issue discovered during my 35k service, i put two falkens or something on the fronts and stuck with pirelli p zero neros on the back because they were damn near brand new.

important note, i didnt really care because my car went to my parents a week after, and is there now while im stuck in afgahnistan for a year. i dont think my dad will be doing any track days with it....at least i hope not.

they did drive it about 2k miles cross country to get it home and they didnt report any issues.

if i was going to drive it extensively after the switch i may have put p zeros back on... but then again maybe not.

just put the same size and rating on as the other ones.

I heard that Quattro needs to have the same tread pattern...

So far I hear as long as speed rating and rotational diameter are same it won't harm qt system. Tread pattern may effect wet weather traction as it does on all cars.
