    New 2 the B6: Suspension Q

I just bought my '04 TQ (6M) about a week ago and I'm really loving it so far. It's so much smoother than my dad's Acura TL and I think he wishes he bought one instead muhaha! Anyway my question is this...

After searching for popular damper+coil combos I've seen a lot of people like the Stasis SS kit and the Vogtland GT's (among others) and I was wondering which ones would be best to autocross on (please include technical reasons not just the fact that you bought it or sell it so it must be good)? The Bilstein PSS9's look attractive as well but they are a tiny bit more expensive. Overall, which would be the best application for an autox car that might see some track use??? I have about $2g to spend so I would appreciate any other recommendations. I'm more concerned with performance than streetability (the car is already too comfortable in my opinion). Also adjustability isn't really that important as long as it performs well out of the box. Thank you!

P.S. - I know there have been a lot of threads on this already but most of them aren't concerned with performance as much as ride quality.

If you want performance based setup i would look at the STaSIS SL (replacement for the STaSIS Tracksport) or the STaSIS Motorsports. I personally have the tracksports and really like them. I ended up settling on 750# Front and 1100# Rear springs with the STaSIS valving to match w/ H-Sport rear sway bar. Very solid performer at Auto-x and weekend trackdays.

Yeah, those look like what something I would want!!! Don't suppose there is any way to get them for cheaper than 2500 though. (I still need to shell out for good tires and lighter wheels). Also, do they let you choose your spring rates? It doesnt say anything on the website that I can see. I was also contemplating the H-sport bar...what about upgrading to an S4 H-sport bar (can't remember the diameter right now)? Would there be any risk in this if using S4 brackets as well and does that even make sense in terms of $$? I might have to wait on a bigger rear bar for now anyway due to money and the notion that #1000+ rear springs will help with cornering behavior. Thanks I really appreciate your advice.

    Any other suggestions to compare!?!?

Like EGT 18T said, StaSIS SL or tracksports are very good, or you can buy a set of KW V3.

here is a set of StaSIS tracksports used

KW V3's are pretty good at least thats what i've been reading, but if ur gonna track this car stock with no performance upgrades ur on the wrong boat my friend!

    Re: New 2 the B6: Suspension Q

I'm not sure what you mean by track the car but I was only referring to weekend open track days and such and that is a long way off for me anyway. My first priority is autocross (SCCA ST) so my mods are going to follow that order of precidence. At this point (a week into ownership) I'm still feeling out the dynamics of this chassis and only planning modifications based on what I feel is required most. The first thing I didn't like was how much roll there is and how little confidence I have in the stock setup when going hard though a corner so the first thing to go will be the wheels+tires and then dampers and springs. I will take a look at the V3's though. Thanks for the input.

Side note...anyone on 17x8 Kosei K1 TS...are they strong enough to drive hard on?(I'm fine with them being a little disposable since I'm going to go big brake later on anyway.)

I dont mean to hate on skeeball but I don't think I'd go for a used setup.

Thanks for the offer anyway it is a good price.

Sway bars for AutoX are key - Not coilovers.. Sway bars are such an underrated mod..
    Just something to consider.....

I'd only echo the comments for the Stasis Tracksports or Motorsports... I wouldn't consider the Stasis SS for AutoX only because they use progressive springs for that setup instead of linear..

I guess thats probably true about the bars, the fact that it's such a cheap and simple answer probably means its the best one haha. Not to mention the fact that tires will make a much greater difference. I just know that eventually I'm going to want a damper upgrade, which means I would want to correctly match the spring rates so the best option for me would probably be a coilover setup. I'll definitly consider your advice though and I'll probably end up doing both at the same time.
