The 2008 a4 is the same thing. speakers are the same on the A4 and the S4 and the RS4's.

The sub in mounted under the read deck and is 7" if I recall correctly. Odd size.

This is how good they are. I called them for the new Denon Blu Ray, retails for $1,999 and asked if they could give me a discount and the salesman said, "let me see if I have a coupon in my desk. He said how about $1,850 to your door. I jumped on it.

I looked for this player and couldn't get it below retail anywhere. Crutchfield rocks!

For some reason, I didn't think replacing our speakers was as easy as plug and play. Am I wrong? Maybe I was just thinking of the sub and amp. If I am wrong, what speakers from Crutchfield are the best upgrade? Any DIY on the amp and sub replacement? Thanks.

6.75" is referred to as an "oversized" 6.5" speaker. Generally all 6.5's can fit with only minor modifications.

With the Bose pin grounded (eg: if you have a Bose system), your stereo outputs a flat/unmolested signal (no EQ applied--EQ is applied at the Bose amplifier.) You can just run RCA's from the high level outputs on the back of the deck if you want, or best case scenario use an external signal processor like the Rockford 3sixty.2 for full EQ settings, attenuation, crossover slope, phase, time delay, etc.

I'm in the process of replacing everything in my car, except the Nav unit... so if you have questions, ask away.

Nah, not yet. It's just like every other euro steering wheel, though :) Real easy install. Took about an hour including swapping harnesses and VAG'ing the car.

Are you going to do a full write up on this? I know a bit about audio but nothing about bose systems. I won't be doing an audio upgrade any time soon, so a good write up would be a great starting point for when I actually think about doing it. I really like our navigation system but can see myself changing out all of the speakers at some point.

Yes I will be doing a full tech article on here to help everybody out. It's been a bitch trying to find info on this stuff but luckily I have a few really good resources. I'm not much into step-by-step pictures, just before-and-after, but I will provide the details that everyone needs.

This will be my first OEM integration system out of my last 5 cars so I have my fingers crossed that this 3sixty.2 works as good as we anticipate.
