    Driveability Question

    boys:

I've searched the forums and I'm not really finding anything to hlep my situation. i've talked to tire guys, mechanics, everyone, but no has any answers. Here's my problem.....

Everytime I get new tires on my wheels the car drives fine for about 50km and then once I hit the highway it feels like the car is hopping up and down as I drive. I had this on the Khumo Ecsta's, but once they feathered, it went away. I've just put on Falken 912's and so far it's the same thing. It seems really present for 1 or 2 min, then dissapears for a bit, then comes back again. Tires are perfectly balanced. Front end is new. Alignment done. I'm putting on Stasis SS in about a month. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is the rear control arm bushings. They're cracked, but not split....could use a replacement, but I don't think it's the core problem.

What about tranny/engine mounts? CV Joints? Bad Driveshaft? Would any of this cause the vibration problem?

It keeps scrubbing out my tires way too quickly. I want to get this fixed once and for all.

    Help please!

What about Half shafts? Also, has anyone ever had their Driveshaft aligned? I'm thinking this is a driveline problem.....

    Re: Driveability Question

    nope....got 'em.

    Here's what I know......
Have hubcentric rings, wheels are not bent, tires are new and ok, wheels are balanced, wheel bearings done less than a year ago, front end is new, rear bushings are old but I think still ok, get a clunk when I engage the clutch but i think everyone does, clutch is slipping, shift between 1-2 is shit, should probably get new engine/tranny mounts, driver's side axle is 16 months old......
    anything else?

    Re: Driveability Question

last alignment was done in Nov. Didn't do anything crazy over the winter, so I'm pretty sure it's still in spec, but maybe I could check it......

    Any other ideas?
