    H-Sport S4 sway bar issue

Ok, so one of my endlink bolts fell off my rear sway about a month ago and I took it to a local shop for them to put a new bolt in and hook the swaybar back on. Only problem is that they put the car on the lift then put the bolt in and lowered the car back down.

Question: Did I ruin/bend the sway bar in any way? And, is there a way to check it, cause I pulled the rear sway off the car last week with my ramps and re-installed with the ramps and it seemed it was alot easier to install on the agressive setting than before.

    Thanks for any help!!!

I have the same sway bar on my A4, and after removing it to install brake cooling hoses it seemed easier to put back on. Maybe under the pressure of the vehicle the bushings and such have become more pliable?

That said, if you measure from one corner to the next across the bar from say where the bolts go on one side to the main compound curve of the other side and repeat that in the other direction and they are the same, your probably OK. Maybe even disconnect it and lay it on the ground to do this test and that should confirm it its still square/straight & measure from the ground to the top where the bolt holes are. Just a thought

Good thinking, cause I really don't feel like buying another rear bar. That would make me .

sway bars are easier to install when the car is on the ground or on ramps. it takes alot to bend a sway bar so i doubt you damaged it.

Oops, you said disconnected from end links right, so all that could of happened was the ends scraped the ground a little, your main mounts stayed on right. No big deal, if anything check your end links, those tolerances are much lower than the sway, you may have bent them or the bolt that holds them in. But I agree you are probably just fine. Race cars unbolt the sway bars in the rain all the time (that said they are tougher). The other method is still sound for checking the sway.
