Anyone have or heard anything about this unit...IM thinking of getting it. I was gonna spend 500 bucks on a standalone GPS unit...but this sounds like a better deal.

I was looking into that unit myself. They're still relatively new so there isn't much information on them on the net. They seem to be gaining popularity amongst the Nissan/Infinity crowd. Check their forums. I vaguely remember seeing a how-to on one not too long ago.

Right now, it's only competition is Pioneer's all-in-one offering. Its only drawback is its single DVD slot that must have the map DVD loaded for the navigation function to work. The Kenwood however, uses a HDD to perform its navigation functions which frees up its DVD slot for CDs/DVDs.

    Re: kenwood dnx7120...

I have the kenwood DDX 6019 which is a 2 years old model already but it still functions nicely, I believe the DNX 7120 should be even better...I like how they put the Navi unit separately so u don't have to take out the navi dvd out if u like watching DVD at the same time (one thing i don't like about the Pioneer AVIC-D3)

    http://cgi.ebay.com/Kenwood-DDX-6019...QQcmdZViewItem

scroll down, there is a comparison chat that gives u a better idea among 4 different model, but yeh the 7120 is a slightly new model....no comparison on the chart yet, but it has DNX 7100...hope this can help

    Re: kenwood dnx7120...

Kenwood just issued a world wide recall for all of the 2008 dnx nav units(5120,7120,8120). Apparently they have a software issue. Kenwood said they should all be updated and back in stores in a few weeks to a month. If a local shop has one, I would make sure it is one of the updated units because they may not have sent them back yet.

If you haven't already purchased this unit, you may want to wait for the new Pioneer Avic F series that was just announced. It is set to launch in June. Just google for the Avic F series and you can see some pictures and see the specs. Looks to be a pretty promising unit!

Yeah, I just googled this and I would wait on the 7120 purchase. As far as interface goes Pioneer > Kenwood.
