I'm heading to laguna seca today for the sea otter classic and will have my friends v1 for the short trip. Was wondering if you guys know if they are using the laser that the v1 doesn't detect down there or should I be fine? I know they use it on 101, 85, 280...any tips anyone?

HWY 1 near Ford Ord, there's a exit (sorry forgot the name) that cops usually sits at. This is especially true on the way back. It is high up where they can see you speed and come down to get you.

How was the Sea Otter? I was there last year, when it rained. Hope you had a good time out there.

v1 saved my ass a couple times. sea otter was really cold and windy. Big event but, not a huuuge turn out. I was waiting at the bottom of the downhill and watched a guy pretty much die and we ended up going home after that.

Should be a report about it pretty soon. didn't look good, emt was doing cpr for a loooong time. I am a "first responder," which is a lifeguard pretty much lol but, I came too late to get in there and do anything. not much you can do for a snapped neck or whatever happend anyways. he was like 75 yards from the finish too. they took him away in the chopper though so hopefully he might recover?? I don't know how that would work since I heard his ekg was flat lined for like 30 minutes+. guy was 48 years old and is the owner as I understand of Wicked Racin....local san jose guy

That sucks about the guy that died. I saw the write-up on the Mercury News website, after you mentioned it here.
