Hey all!
2002 A4 B6 3.0 Q 6-Speed here with around 92k miles.
Put it in the shop last week because it "ran a little rough". Turns out the valve cover gasket leaked oil into the spark plug holes which over time has killed a coilpack.
6 new plugs, coil packs, a new valve cover gasket, a new CV-boot and 2 upper control arms later, the shop gets a code thrown during their test drive - timing off on the right bank. Open up just enough covers etc to look at the timing belt - 8 teeth missing from the timing belt...
Seems like no valves were bent and no other damaged occurred. The car runs batter than ever - after $3000 in repairs.
I guess I dodged a bullet there. A snapped timing belt may have been a lot more expensive...
